The black Velocity 7x - Photo Sling Pack from Tamrac opens up a world of shooting possibilities for you. It's rated to hold your DSLR with a 6" lens attached, two extra lenses and various accessories. The camera is held facing down in shooting position supported by padded, movable internal dividers. The pack is ostensibly worn on your back but can easily be swung to the front for rapid access as a sling pack. The comfortable strap is padded and distributes the weight evenly making this pack a joy to tote around. There's also a top carry handle for quick grab situations. The pack is made from rugged 600D PolyTek.
The pack is characterized by a front Quick Flip Top that open away from your body providing both rapid access to the camera as well as helping with security since no one around you will be able to see inside the pack. There's also a unique Tuck-A-Way Waist Belt that can be rapidly deployed when you go hiking or ride your bike. The belt adds significant stability to the pack by preventing it from shifting around while you're active. The top lid features an inside accessory pocket for anything small like a lens cap or memory card. In the front, there's a larger zippered accessory pocket that contains multiple slots for everything from your smart phone to memory cards. And speaking of memory cards, the Velocity 7x employs Tamrac's exclusive Memory & Battery Management System that is comprised of little red flags that can indicate which are fresh cards or batteries and which are expired or used up.
In addition, the pack makes use of Tamrac's very versatile Modular Accessory System that will permit you to add on additional pouches to hold anything from another lens to a water bottle. Weighing in at a mere 1 lb 9 oz, the Velocity 7x combines the advantages of both a backpack and sling pack and can make your shooting more expeditious and fun.

Bought this in the store and received expert help test-fitting a Nikon D90 and various lenses using the many included customizable velcro padded dividers. After a few trials we hit on a divider setup that fits the D90 mounted with either the 18-105mm or the 70-300mm with the unused lens in a divider next to it. Numerous small accessories like spare batteries, SD cards, the remote, charger, etc., fit into the front compartment.
To wear and use: put the sling over your head and diagonally across your chest to put the pack on your side/back. The zip access is well thought out - you just pull on the sling so the pack slides around to your front, unzip the top, and pop out the camera and go instantly. You can also hang it on one shoulder or carry it with the top handle. For hiking and riding, untuck and fasten the waist strap for extra stability.
Changing lenses feels "safe" with the bag in front of you - the sling stays on, so the bag is stable for taking off / putting on without kneeling or taking off the pack in the dust.
I've been using it for about 3 weeks in both the city and out in the woods hiking or scrambling up rocks, etc. It's better than my two other "small" bags by far. The carry handle is good for grabbing, and the waterproof fabric and zippers lower the worry level for being caught in the rain, etc. The padding is good enough for warding off bumps and bruises, especially in the car and on the go.
Extra note: While I've bought many things from B&H over the internet, this was my first trip to the superstore in Manhattan - wow!

Gave it 3 stars, can't really decide if I like the bag or not. Although it does seem to protect my equipment, the description of what equipment it holds is not very exact. The compartments are adjustable, but not easily. In addition, the bottom compartments are not easily accessible. It's ergonomic in regards to how it fits when carrying over my shoulder, and my camera is easily accessible, so in that regard it's useful. But in terms of accessing my flash or secondary lens, it's not very easy.

Convenient pack that doesn't feel heavy when carrying it. I carry my Nikon D80 with 18-135mm lens attached, a 50mm manual Nikkor lens (glass), a 105mm manual Nikkor lens (glass), my flash, and charger. All fit in the pack and it still doesn't feel heavy, especially when in the backpack position. I can access everything easily and have compartments and space for everything. The only con is that there doesn't seem to be anywhere to put a quick reference guide or a small notebook if I want to jot down some notes while shooting. Otherwise, this is a great pack!

After some measurements i found the exact size to match my camera. In fact the Sling Pack comes in a few different sizes and to do it's job well, you need to choose it right. It solid and well built... and it's fast enough to catch the moment. The only tricky thing is to align correctly the internal walls (velcro) to match your camera's shape, which is hard to do in a small bag... Once done, it's ready to face any situation providing good camera protection and fast last-second grabbing. Being one shoulder only you cannot carry too much weight if you want to feel comfortable all day long. If you need accessories, consider a backpack.

This bag is the perfect size for 1 body, a couple lenses, and other accessories, like a H4N and cables.
It's comfortable to wear, though I would prefer a little more padding in the handle.
I'd buy it again though.

This bag provides good protection and storage but it's not very comfortable and does not provide easy accessibility to your equipment. It's a bit cumbersome trying to store your equipment once you're finished shooting.

I work for a touring production, and do photography. I like this bag because it allows me to carry my camera and extra lenses with ease. Easy access with it on my side without falling off my shoulder. The outer pocket is perfect for carring extra memory cards, and even big enough for my charger and color filters.

Comments about Tamrac 5767 Velocity 7x Sling Pack (Black):
Perfect bag for my t2i, and 2 extra lenses (the EF-S 55-250mm and a smaller 55mm) . I originally purchased a small lowpro but was unhappy with the shape and size.
I also carry 2 extra batteries, lens cloths, charger, and extra sdhc memory. I don't use a flash, but I'm sure I'd to be able to squeeze one in, maybe give up the second lens.
It fits comfortably on my back, yet easily slides around for quick access. My only gripe is the color choice (a bit superficial but whatever), I'd like it if there were a few other choices. Still it's a decent looking bag.

Finally got to use the bag today on my 15-mile bike ride. I had packed my Canon EOS Rebel XSi, Speedlite 430EX II, EF-S 18-55mm, EF-S 55-250mm, hoods for both lenses, and DSLR Gorillapod. When I got the bag at first, I was a little concerned that it wasn't as easy to use as I imagined, but today during the bike ride after taking the camera out and putting it back 10-15 times, sliding the pack from my back to front, and changing the lenses couple times, I got a hang of it. I still can't do it in 3 seconds like they say in advertisement, but I'm getting there. The pack stayed securely on my back during the ride. It was sliding slightly once in a while to one side, but not to the point where it was annoying or uncomfortable. Overall, I'm pleased. I find the bag very useful as it enables me to take the camera with me on my bike rides and hikes or for long day trips. One thing I did not like about the bag was that surfaces inside the bag are quite rough and velcro strips are catching on gear. So, sometimes is a little diffucult to put in/take out gear quickly, especially if the hoods are attached to the lenses, even when in storage position. It seems like there is some empty space left deep inside the bag because the bottom is rounded. I wish I could also fit in my EF 50mm lens in it, but I understand that Tamrac is selling bigger bags that can accommodate more lenses.

This is a great bag for a one day trip/event. It holds most all of my gear but it is a little small to pack everything in. The small size does work well for sporting event, recitals, etc as it fits into the seats with you, not taking up much room. I really like the flip top. It makes it very convenient to grab your camera out quick.

I was looking for a small bag that will allow me to carry my Canon T2i and the 2 lenses I got (50mm and 18-135mm). After a lot of research I decided to get this bag and I love it. I can store my camera with either lens mounted while the other one is next to it in the secure area, have it on my back and easily access the camera to take a pictures quickly without taking the bag of my shoulder. There's additional pocket storage for memory cards, cleaning kit, extra battery etc.

I have yet to use this in an extended setting but have tried it out for short periods. The sling concept works quite well and after a few minutes you forget you have it on. My only complaint is you have to bury some of your extra items in the bottom of the case which is inconvenient.
