The 3 TB TeraStation Pro II 4-Drive NAS Array from Buffalo is a high-capacity hard drive array with an interface that allows it to be connected via wired Gigabit Ethernet and RAID data protection.

In addition to providing simple network storage, the TeraStation can serve as a network server for up to two USB 2.0 storage devices. It can also serve as an Active Directory Domain member, allowing you to use it in an enterprise network environment.

The drive is easily integrated into your network and can even be accessed via the FTP protocol. This makes it easy to share files among users. The included Memeo AutoBackup software even allows you to back up data from your network. These features make it an excellent solution for media streaming, data backup, or general storage in networks.

Key Features

• 3 TB Capacity: 3 TB of capacity allows for storage of approximately 225 hours of uncompressed DV digital video, the equivalent of 638 4.7 GB DVD video discs or up to 750,000 MP3 files.

• RAID Data Protection: The TeraStation can be configured in RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 or RAID 10 configurations. RAID 0 provides the fastest access to your data and full storage capacity, but offers no protection in the event of an internal disk failure. RAID 1 mirrors all the data, cutting the storage capacity in half, but ensuring that data will be intact if a drive fails. RAID 5 gives you 75% of the total capacity by using space to store parity data. If an internal drive fails, you can rebuild the data using the parity data once a new drive is installed.

• Gigabit Ethernet Interface: The Gigabit Ethernet interface allows users to access data and administrators to remotely administer the drive through a standard LAN connection, making it easy to add to your existing network infrastructure.

• LCD Display: The TeraStation features an LCD display that quickly allows you to check the status of the array. This is a great feature for network administrators that quickly need to gauge the functionality of their networks.

• USB Drive Sharing: The array features two USB ports for hard drive connection. This allows you to increase the array's capacity with an external hard drive.
