The HP (Hewlett-Packard) RU350AA HP Notebook Backpack is designed for protecting a 17" notebook computer. The bag is made of durable, heavy-duty nylon with lightweight padding that makes it both strong and comfortable to wear and carry. There are numerous pockets and compartments to store your gear. The backpack is carried by dual padded shoulder straps (which evenly distribute your load), or by a carry handle.

I've only had this backpack for about a month, but I am very pleased with its performance so far. I purchased a Speck backpack for more money that only lasted about 6 months. This bag is far more comfortable to wear and has an extra large compartment for papers and folders that I wasn't expecting. It holds and protects my 17" Macbook Pro better than other bags I've had. The material doesn't pick up dirt or grime or scratch or pull. This is one of my best B & H finds to date.

I use a 15 inch laptop. It fits very nicely. I'm happy with the pockets, space, and general functionality. The issue that I have is the straps. The stitching on the my strap after 6 mos of use are coming apart. I typically carry the bag over one shoulder and one strap apparently can't support the load. I don't have much else in the bag besides the computer, mouse, small power adapter, and a half inch paper notebook. If your the kind that uses both straps, your probably OK. If your like me and use only one strap most of the time. I would recommend getting something different. I know I will the next time. I should also note that the padding in the strap quickly developed a crease in it. Now that I can see the padding where it is coming apart. I can verify that the padding is not very substantial.

Not to my expectations. The 17" HP dv7t laptop fits with some difficulty into it. The build quality of the bag also doesn't seem to be good. Only time can tell it worthiness.

I bought this for my Pavilion dv7. It holds the laptop well, the dv7 is heavy but when I wear it in this back pack, The soft padding and the way it spreads out the weight makes it lighter. Its bulky though, and not as discreet when you are walking down the street.

i actually thought i was ordering a carry bag and was surprised when i received the backpack instead. at first i was afraid that my 17 in monitor would not fit, but it did, although just barely. i'm actually happy that i ended up with the backpack because i believe it will make traveling with it through airports, etc much easier than carrying at my side with purse, book, etc.

I looked quite at several stores for a backpack to fit my new 17" laptop. This was by far the best and most economical. It has plenty of compartments and seems sturdy for the weight of a larger laptop. The elastic band could have been just a little longer to stretch over the top of the computer.
