The Samson Q1UCW is an affordable, handheld USB microphone for plug-and-play operation with Windows and Mac based computers. The C1UCW utilizes a dynamic, neodymium element for maximum detail and quality without external power. The USB port provides audio directly to computers without additional hardware and power is supplied from the computer USB port.
The Windows SoftPre applet software provides added features that include remote operation over volume control, high-pass filter and phase switch. Its hypercardioid polar pattern greatly reduces signal at the off-axis (indirect) sections of the capsule, reducing ambient noise and providing high gain before feed back. The microphone also includes Cakewalk's Music Creator 5 software, allowing even inexperienced artists to craft, refine, and publish tracks with ease. The Q1UCW is an ideal solution for desktop producers, musicians and Podcasters.

Comments about Samson Q1UCW - USB Handheld Microphone:
After testing six (6) different microphones for doing voice-over recording of audio books, this Q1UCW is the outstanding choice. In particular, it has vastly lower 'noise' accompanying a recording. At least 20db lower than the next lower one. An added pop-filter makes recordings of professional quality. I heartily recommend this mike!

Comments about Samson Q1UCW - USB Handheld Microphone:
I off-line edit broadcast docs and needed a reliable, easy set-up, microphone to use to record scratch voice overs in bot Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Studio. The Samson QiUCW is great. The sound quality is usable and setting it up when switching applications is a breeze[...]I'm happy.

Comments about Samson Q1UCW - USB Handheld Microphone:
I sent a recording to a radio station using the Blue Snowball which got good reviews. The radio station told me it sounded horrible. I ended up using their Q1UC and comparing apples to applies, it's enormously better. Even I could hear the difference. And it's cheaper.

Comments about Samson Q1UCW - USB Handheld Microphone:
Very easy to set up, works as advertised. I installed the software which is supposed to let me control various aspects of the microphone, but find I have to turn the volume indicator all the way up to get any decent results. Perhaps it has something do do with my soundcard? Documentation for Samson software generally unhelpful.

Comments about Samson Q1UCW - USB Handheld Microphone:
We are using in an office setting with a lot of ambient sound. The Samson Q1U captured clear voices and no other outside noise. Very easy to use, plug in USB and Garageband picks it up immediately. Great multi-purpose usb microphone.
