The C01U Recording Pak from Samson is a bundle for the computer based musician/podcast producer, that includes the C01U condenser microphone with a direct USB output. The bundle also supplies everything needed to set up and start desk-top recording, including a shock mount, desktop stand, a USB cable and recording software.
For Windows users, the package includes Cakewalk's Sonar LE, a very capable recording editing software solution. The software provides the ability to do multiple track recording, editing and processing with built-in effects.

This mic seems very well put together. Very easy to use. I just plugged it in, started up Audacity, and everything worked great. I was using a laptop, so I did have to switch from the internal mic and adjust the volume levels, but nothing major.

If you're looking for a professional sounding mic look no further. It's heavy yet light and doesn't feel cheap. The kit I bought is second to none. This is a really nice piece of equipment. I have used earlier model USB Microphones on my PC and was thoroughly disappointed to say the least.
The truly professional USB Mic s were way out of my price range until recently. I chose the C01U recording Pak with Sonar LE software and a very nice case I converted to carry two pistols to and from the range in. THis case must cost almost as much as the Microphone, yet they threw it in for free!
I recorder my child reading, directly to my MAC and then to my Wife's PC.
Great sound capture and easily saved to mp3 format and sent to the in-laws.
This Microphone makes us feel as though we were sitting in a recording studio. Way more that what we imagined and now we believe we have to become more sophisticated in our recordings to justify owning such a nice piece of recording equipment! I think we'll do as Woody Allen did with "What's up Tiger Lilly" and re-dub a movie or two just for kicks.

After receiving the CO1U Microphone I hooked it up to the computer the next day and tried it out. I recorded a few audio clips and the Microphone quality sounded great. It's honestly worth the price I paid for it. The fact that it comes with a mic stand and shock mount is absolutely awesome. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to do Fan-Dubbing or getting in to Podcasting. It does have some weight to it but I don't find that to be a bad thing especially if you want it to stay in one place and not have to worry about it being knocked over like the cheap [@] desktop mics you buy. All in all this was the best purchase I've made on a piece of computer equipment.

The audio quality of this microphone is incredible. I have used many microphones and this one by far has superb quality. Any problem is with the software. The mic came with Sonar LE (cakewalk) which is a great product but not simple enough for beginners. I ordered the entire microphone package (case, stand, cords, etc) The price with all the extras was still $75 less than anyone else for just the microphone!! [...]The sound is clean and perfect for podcasting. We are not for profit and had no problem submitting the tax exempt form. Would definitely do business here again.

My grandson is using this to record his non-electronic music, and it works very well.
It picks up a wide range, including the incidental high notes in the parrot shriek in the background. The playback notes are clear and as resonant as a beginner would want.

I am a podcaster that heavily depends on USB Microphones, and I would turn to none other than this. The Pros include superb sound quality, a convenient case to protect the mic, plug and play, and the price. The only thing that to me is not a real problem is the weight of the microphone itself. If I were you, i'd buy this now!
