Sometimes it's tough buying cables on-line because you're not sure what you're getting for the price. This is a heavyweight, shielded cable - top quality!

Comments about SIIG eSATA to eSATA Cable - 6.6' (2 m):
The cable seems sturdy and is long enough (6 ft.) It's much thicker than a USB cable, and less flexible. I am happy with it though, as it speeds up file transfer.

This is a good companion to the 1 TB MY BOOK DVR Expander 7200K. It is 6 feet whereas the SATA cable that comes with the expander is about 2 feet.

Comments about SIIG eSATA to eSATA Cable - 6.6' (2 m):
I am using an Intel-based Windows system with two external bookshelf hard drives for backup. I tried the USB 2.0 and Firewire interfaces that are built into them but I found the transfer rate slow and they would not turn off when the system shut down. Then I tried the eSATA interface using two SIIG eSATA cables. What a difference, they operate as if they are connected inside my system. They turn on and off with the system. The shielded SIIG cables provide error free data transfer. What more can I say? They are great.

The only reason to use eSATA is speed so why not use a cable that will get the most out of the connection. The SIIG cable does just that. I use it to join my WD My book Studio Edition to a Dell Studio XPS 435T. I first went with firewire 800 and it was ok but when I hooked up the eSATA wow!!!! it had to be 10x the speed of fw 800. If you have eSATA availability this is a no brainier, buy it you'll love it.
