Comments about SIIG USB SoundWave 7.1 - USB Sound Card:
I recently lost my both my headphone jack and speakers on my laptop. This USB sound card helped me head off an expensive motherboard replacement. The compact design (size of a flash drive) is perfect. The sound is great and the 7.1 surround sound is surprisingly clear even with headphones. Nice Product[...]

Comments about SIIG USB SoundWave 7.1 - USB Sound Card:
I bought this USB soundcard because my old laptop's builtin soundcard recently died, and I didn't want to spend much $ fixing/replacing it. This was probably the simplest and cheapest solution. Now I can use my old laptop as a stereo system again. After a couple of weeks of heavy use, this device still works very well (so far, I've only used it on my old laptop running Windows XP Home Edition - Windows automatically installed the drivers and everything, so it was a snap). The sound is perfect and the thing is nice and small (about the size of a pen drive). My only complaints are that the included USB extension cord is a little too short for my taste and the mute button in Windows doesn't seem to work (although the volume bar works fine), but this last issue may be a driver issue or something. I haven't tried out the fancy simulated surround-sound speaker settings or anything. I just use it in the default mode, which sounds great. In short, I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a great, inexpensive USB soundcard.
