The LG3803 8VSB/QAM Signal Generator with OP70 Moving Picture Option and LG3803-OP72 Terrestrial Multipath Simulation Option from Leader is a device designed for DTV tuner testing, providing all the necessary signal control for testing ATSC compliant tuners and receivers. This test unit is an ideal choice for manufacturing and service applications.
The RF output on this model can be set to emulate 8 VSB, 64, and 256 QAM modulation formats. The modulation frequency can be set from 50MHz to 900MHz, covering the entire VHF and UHF spectrum. Output levels range from -100 to +13dBm (50 ohms) and is also adjustable with 0.1dB resolution, making it ideal for input sensitivity tests.
A pseudo-random (PN) generator and a BER counter are built into the instrument, facilitating BER measurements in a single unit. This unit can be modulated internally (2 built-in test patterns; color bars and ramp) or externally (DVB-ASI or SPI input). The QVGA display provides a set of instrument controls, which is capable of being managed via an Ethernet connection. Remote control also allows for up to (100) preset recall and increment changes.
This version of the LG3803 8VSB/QAM Signal Generator comes with the LG 3803 OP70 Moving Picture Option and the LG3803-OP72 Terrestrial Multipath Simulation Option , which are usually separate add-on accessories. This OP70 module permits large HDTV files, MPEG-2 TS, or similar content to be managed via the 80GB 2-1/2" hard drive or DVD drive and directly output as a modulated RF signal. Description of the stream, such as packet size and bit rate, is analyzed and automatically set. Playback range can be set by time length. The OP72 allows for control of up to (12) simulated paths. Detailed data regarding each path is provided by the module and simulations are offered in accord with GSM and ATSC measurement standards. Settings can be adjusted via the front panel or a remote control.
