The Gary Fong Lightsphere II Inverted Dome Flash Diffusion Pro Combo System includes the C4 and P4 Lightsphere IIs with the standard inverted domes, plus the additional ChromeDome and AmberDomes.
The Lightsphere is a large, round, soft and flexible diffuser that slips over the front of compatible flash units. The inside of the Lightsphere is completely textured to make the light dispersion even more "soft" than it would be otherwise. And because of this design, it is possible to make the material more translucent, keeping the unit from losing a lot of light while actually increasing the diffusion and softness of light.
An opaque color has been added to the inside of the Cloud version, and this "frosted" version creates an even softer effect, which makes it ideal for close-ups, portraits, and event photography.
- Especially ideal for vertical flash shots where the flash coverage is still similar to horizontal shots, due to the large rounded shape of the diffuser. Minimizes the need for a flash-flip bracket.
- The ChromeDome seriously increases the light output, while the AmberDome provides a pleasant warming effect. The included standard inverted dome allows you to softly diffuse direct light with a large, soft source without creating flare on the front of your lens.

This product is used to create the best lighting when using a flash. It spread the light around and most of the time helps with harsh shadows. It creates a soft feeling especially for portraits.

The product works fine. The only thing I don't like is it came with no instructions on the different uses for the caps and diffusers. I went on line and it only showed how to use the Canon camera, not the pruducts I purchased. I know how to use my camera. I was looking for ideas on the use of the different tops and pieces. An instructional DVD is what should be included for that much money. All the parts are plastic which is fine, but lack of instructions and tips in using the product is lame for that kind of money. Green or not.

When I first used it I also had my studio lighting set up. I didnt even use the studio lighting once. I was very impressed with the quality of light I got out of my flash just by adding the lightsphere.

I'm a firm believer in using the basic amount of equipment when shooting weddings and I can honestly say, this is a must have piece of kit for anyone who finds they need flash indoors.Its durable flexible and more importantly gives outstanding results. My only criticism is that it falls off quite easily when your mingling with guests etc hence the 1 star missing.I'd like to see something added in the next generation of lightspheres that addresses this issue
