Yes it is expensive, more than double the cost of the other, non-name brand brackets out there, but this bracket is the most solid bracket I have ever seen. It weighs around 16lbs. and attaches via lag bolts that you need to supply. Once you have it in to two studs (it's two studs wide) you put the other bracket halves on the back of the TV and just set the TV on the wall bracket then secure from the bottom with screws. Its not going anywhere. Solid and secure, but only for Sony TV's!
