The EZ-200 from Yamaha is a high-quality portable keyboard that's great for the budding musician in your family. Each of the 61 keys has a built-in light for easier learning. Choose from any of the 100 built-in songs, and the appropriate keys will illuminate, allowing you to play along. As your ability improves, this feature can be turned off for standard playing. The keys also offer touch response, reacting to how hard you press them, just like a real piano!
The powerful sound engine provides 375 different instrument voices, including stereo grand piano, organs, guitars, strings, and brass instruments. Drum kits and sound effects are included as well for further customizing your sound. The unit can operate on wall power or on batteries for terrific portability. MIDI input and output connectors allow you to connect the keyboard to a computer or other MIDI devices.
Other learning-assistance features of the EZ-200 include a "Lesson" function that guides you step-by-step through the included songs, a fingering guide so you can learn proper fingering technique, a chord dictionary, and a grading feature, which evaluates your playing and rates your performance.

- Teaching features of the EZ-200 include the "Lesson" feature, which lets you learn the left and right-hand parts of 100 pre-programmed songs by following the key lights. A fingering guide teaches proper fingering technique and a chord dictionary offers specific chords. A virtual teacher evaluates your practice sessions and rates your performance over four levels.

- The optional Survival Kit 88 (sold separately) provides you with stereo headphones for private listening, a dust cover for the keys, a Survival Kit DVD, a Watch and Learn DVD, and bonus coupons. It also extends the warranty of your keyboard to three years.

I took 3 years of piano starting at age 7. When the lessons stopped I quickly lost touch with the instrument. Let's jump ahead 20 years. Last week I made a conscious effort to pick up where I left off. I ordered the Yamaha 61 Key Light Up keyboard from B&H.
It was a well thought out decision. Within 3 minutes out of the box, I was hitting those 'ivories'
The keyboard is light as a feather so I am able to carry it from one room to the next. There are so many features built in to the keyboard that it will take time to get to each one. You might even decide to skip a few features.
The keys light up as the recorded songs play out. You can also turn that feature off.
I'm already playing a few songs by ear which is a key feature of the Yamaha Keyboard. You may not need all the features that the keyboard offers I for one am happy with just the piano feature.
I am very happy with the purchase and the price I paid.

Have only had it a month but it seems to work well and I've had no problems with it so far. A bit confusing to use at first but then I am a novice with keyboards so it is a matter of time before I get more proficient.

Great product. Everyone uses it from experienced piano players to adults wanting to learn to our 3 year old daughter who can choose songs and is starting to play along with it. Only thing is you need to buy the ac adapter for it as it does not come with the unit (wherever you buy it from).

Bought this keyboard for my 13 year old daughter for Christmas and so far it is great. She put batteries in on Christmas day and I figured that they would run down fairly quick but hasn't yet. It's big enough to get the feel of playing a piano yet small enough for her to take all over the house or to take with her to friends' houses. And she loves the lighted keys and the sound effects.
