I’m a photographer that often finds himself shooting an action shot while in a low-light situation. To do that I need a fast film and that used to mean accepting a limited amount of grain. Well, I no longer feel the ‘sacrifice’ since Fuji came out with this 400X slide film! I can put it alongside any 100 speed film and wouldn’t be able to detect the difference. An example that I can remember is a project that I had set out to do involving aquarium fish as the subject. Rarely do these fish stay still and in most cases a flash is out of the question. I needed to shoot with high shutter speeds, and a 105mm f2.8 lens that was set at about f18 to f22 for the whole shoot. The lighting was whatever the individual aquarium tanks had and that was often soft with many shadows. The truth is the shots came out beautiful with the key being the Fuji 400X. Yes, it is a bit pricy but well worth the money! I strongly recommend it for this kind of photography. In fact, if you’re out in the field, and you find that you just used up your last roll of Velvia 100, go ahead and put in that roll of 400X you’ve been saving and I promise that you won’t be able to tell the difference. I haven’t pushed or pulled it yet but I have read that there have been absolutely great results in both directions with this film. I plan to push it to 800 for some 4th of July shots coming up.

Comments about Fujifilm Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film:
I purposely bought this film because I read it could handle being pushed and used in low light. I used this at a low light concert and pushed it to 1600 and it came out really great! I am very impressed and will continue to use this film. Next up is trying it at box speed in daylight.

Comments about Fujifilm Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film:
Fine sharpness and very pleasing colors (with a certain magenta cast) under natural light. Remarkably low grain for a 400-speed film. It even does pretty well with flash photography, but less so under fluorescent and (especially) incandescent light (but that's not its intended use).

Comments about Fujifilm Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film:
Fast slide film that I can use for just about any occasion. It's not as saturated as Velvia, which I like, but has more natural color. Fine grain.
I've has some problems with an orange tint in the shadows when scanning this film, but I can usually work around it. It's expensive, so I don't use it that often.

I have been using FujiFilm for nearly 18 years now and have seen some of my favorite films fade away since the onslaught of digital technology. I love using these films from Fuji and the accuracy they provide. Fuji provides simple choices for a simple minded photographer such as me. As long as there is FujiFilm, I will be happy! SHOOT FUJIFILM!!

Comments about Fujifilm Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film:
Provia 400x is an excellent fast film that can be easily pushed 1-2 stop w/o any discernible loss of IQ. It also scans great. I had great results with skin tone, contrasty daylight, low-light conditions including cityscapes; so quite suitable for analog travel photography.
It does benefit from a warming filter/polarizer as the shadow areas have a bluish tint.

Comments about Fujifilm Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film:
Film still has a special quality that digital doesn't quite match. Fuji has a trmendous product line of transparency films, from the legendary Velvia, to Sensia, and Provia 400X. This film is very fast for a transparency film, but delivers very fine grain and incredible color. And because of the fast speed, you don't need a whole lot of light to use it. There really aren't any shortcomings to this film, if you want to use it as I do, which is as a general purpose, walking-around film.

Comments about Fujifilm Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film:
I LOVE this film. It is by far my favorite. It has a relatively fine grain structure for a 400 film, making it quite versatile. For all you hipster/lomo addicts, it looks great cross-processed too! Go get creative and take the same shots you admire from other photogs. Yes it's a bit pricey but when you get the "one" shot you've been waiting for, you won't mind. Real photogs shoot film!
Comments about Fujifilm Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film:
I used this with great results thru cross-processing. Hard to beat under that application, however it could certainly stand to be a couple of dollars cheaper. On the impractical side price wise for a young thug like me.
