Fuji's Provia 400X 120 slide film is definately a film worth using. Especially in low light conditions, as well as for action photography, such as taking pictures of fast moving trains. This film has excellent color and really fine grain which makes it a very good all around type of film. I have used Provia 400X 120 in the past,and have always been satisfied with the results no matter the lighting conditions. I would recommend this film to others simply because it is such an excellent film.

I used this for my trip to the jersey shore that i take every year and the colors of the ocean and the greenery were so vibrant! I really don't have anything bad to say about this product- its amazing.

This an awakening to having used mostly ISO 100 & 200 Transparency film. It is just like using PROVIA 100F and is useful in low light situations. Extremely fine grain for a 400 speed film

The only light situation I would avoid with this film is very bright sunshine. Other than that, with a tripod you can use this film in any lighting. It serves me best on overcast days outside. Inside when I don't want to use flash or need more speed. The grain on this is almost as small as Velvia 50.

Provia has great colors, particularly in the greens and blues. This film is fast enough for my Holga and also works well in my TLR.

Of the few remaining companies that still produce professional quality films, Fuji is one of the best. The Provia has relatively low noise for a 400 speed film. The colors are vivid and rich, and translate very well to digital files. Unfortunately it is on the higher end of the price range for 120 slide film, but for ISO 400 transparencies it can't be beat.

I am primarily a Velvia shooter. My format is 6x17 and my staple subject matter is landscape. There are times though when a long exposure just doesn't cut it. This is when I turn to Provia 400X.

I have been experimenting with using this format to create shots outside of the usual panoramic realms, these shots quite often require capturing motion, which is totally impossible with Velvia. I am even able to hand hold my Fuji to capture images which can be a big plus.

Whilst the Provia lacks the saturation of Velvia, as in fact do all other materials out there, it compensates in a number of ways, especially when it comes to exposure latitude and its almost total lack of reciprocity failure with long exposures, a god send for me when shooting cityscapes after twilight has left Velvia incapable of capturing exposures of any note.

I would however be remiss not to mention its shortcomings, it is a high speed film and with that inevitably you have drawbacks. This film for my purposes does not work unless I require shooting in very low light or when hand holding the camera. Although the gamut is quite wide, it can be very flat. Also compared to other products in the market, even other 400 ISO transparency films, the resolving power of Provia can be a little poor, with large prints 80x26', I quite often find that quite more post production is required than I would usually put into Velvia images.

awesome tonal range and i love the extra bit of speed the 400 gives while still producing a sharp image. i used it mainly for art portraiture type work in natural light settings and i love the colors it produced.

Best 400 speed film ever. I also shoot velvia 50-100s and they look identical to the naked eye. Only thing is this film could be a little more saturated.

Never shot with slide film until recently- Ironically this was after I had switched to digital and then moved "backwards" to MF film - and I have to say that nothing beats the satisfaction of having a physical slide which you can hold in your hand and look at without having to use projectors or computers or printers.

Colour is vibrant and just a joy to behold. Drawback unfortunately is that developing is expensive (so is the film) and it's hard to make duplicates but then maybe that's what makes you appreciate the process even more.

I use this with my 500mm medium format lens to get the fastest shutter speeds possible for tack sharp images. The grain is amazingly small for great enlargements.

If I had to carry a single color film, this would be it. Saturated yet not overblown, nice shadow detail, sharp, amazingly low grain for 400 speed, push-able (though I prefer it rated at 400). Also converts to monochrome amazingly well in Photoshop! Really smooth and great tonality with very little adjustment needed.

some of my favorite film to thus far.
although strictly used as cross-processed I love everything about this film.
although the 400 is a little more then what I need at times I don't mind the blow-outs or light refractions acquired at some shoots (I think it adds to the beauty) I always have some in the fridge, in the car and in the camera bag (you never know when your gonna need it)

The colors are brilliant for the daylight work; saturated but not over saturated; appear very accurate, surprisingly accurate! Skin tones are good. The night shots in mixed lighting were great: beat the pants off of RVP100 -- this may be well known, but I'm new to Fujichromes.

Not so great is paying for what you get: the film is a mite spendy, but not outrageous and there just may not be an alternative in a chrome emulsion! If we keep up a strong demand it may remain stable.

Works like film should. good tight packaging but easy to open, no problem with exposure through the edges. Got some great photos in the lighting studio with only one light on. Great!

I don't think I would be exaggerating to say this chrome is amazing. How they managed to get the grain so fine and so sharp on a 400 film is a minor miracle. Colours are beautifully balanced, and the exposure latitude seems a mile wider than most chromes. Highly recommended
