The Digital Scribe USB Digital Pen System for Windows from IOGEAR is a digital input device that shares the form factor and functionality of a traditional ball-point pen. The Digital Scribe can be used to convert handwriting to digital text. This makes it an excellent solution for anyone who prefers handwriting notes as opposed to typing.

Comments about Iogear Digital Scribe USB Digital Pen System for Windows:
I use this item for taking notes in various meetings.
Pros: Very portable. No cords required. Fairly good OCR on upload. Will hold up to 50 pages of written pages. Can connect directly to computer and use as either a pen or a mouse. Battery life is good.
Cons: Pen is too bulky for use by a woman with not-so-big hands. Small writing area not clearly defined in product description. The clips to attach to paper are rather unweildy. The included software is a bit lame, but useable. After only a short time of use, had to return the item to manufacturer for warranty work...the unit froze up and would not come on...it had been slow to turn on, save a page and turn off prior to that...the turn around time was great, but didn't like having to spend so much on return postage.
Disappointed: They have upgraded the design of this item, changed the usb cable design and lowered the price considerably. The warranty on the new one is 3 YEARS LIMITED!!! Mine was only 3 MONTHS!!! Sad...
Notes: I will probably purchase another of these systems soon. I do enjoy the freedom afforded in being able to download my notes rather than scanning them.I would recommend THE UPDATED PEN to others.
