The HR824mk2 from Mackie is a high-quality active two-way studio monitor, perfect for stereo or surround mixing applications. The monitor is THX pm3-certified, great for creating high-definition audio for video, film, and video game projects. The monitor has an 8.75" low-distortion woofer and a 1" titanium dome tweeter to provide clear, lifelike sound across a full frequency spectrum. Internal amplifiers provide 250W of total power for a strong performance
The cast-aluminum Zero Edge Baffle keeps diffraction to a minimum for excellent imaging, while the optimized waveguide provides a wide sweet spot, and the internal cabinet damping eliminates midrange artifacts. The cabinet is OmniMount ready, allowing it to be mounted easily on a wall or ceiling.
The rear panel of the cabinet has XLR, TRS, and RCA input connectors for compatibility with virtually any audio gear you can throw at it. Controls for LF and HF filters, along with acoustic space matching allow you to customize the monitor to your specific workspace for optimum performance.

Comments about Mackie HR824mk2 - 250W 8.75" Two-Way Active Studio Monitor:
I've owned a pair of the original HR824s for six years now and have used them daily. I purchased three HR824mk2's to make a 5.1 system for monitoring and entertainment. I use the original HR824s as the surrounds. The sound is nearly identical to my ears. The bass below 80Hz might be tighter, but that's the only sonic difference I can tell. The new look will probably appeal to most folks with the nice gloss black finish. I still like the old vinyl laminate for no other reason than familiarity. The rear panel is identical to the HR824 so there is no learning curve for owners of the old monitors. If an HR824mk3 is released, I would not hesitate to purchase a setup six more years down the road.

Comments about Mackie HR824mk2 - 250W 8.75" Two-Way Active Studio Monitor:
Using the speakers for house music production where low end is very important. Coming from a pair of KRKs that were really lacking in the low range, I am extremely pleased with the Mackies.
They are quite large, bigger than I expected but look really nice.
They can go quite loud with ease and work great at lower level providing a nice deepness and soft sound.
The tweeters sounded a bit odd to me at first but now I think I have already adapted. There are multiple settings in the back that allow you to adjust to the level you are most comfortable with.
Overall a great product and received less than two days after I ordered it!
