The Harbor Digital Design Bounce Diffuser is a half-dome shaped flash diffuser that slips securely over the front of the flash, with use of the included model-specific flash adapter. The half dome design allows for a larger diffusion surface and spreads the light evenly and over a larger area, producing the effect of a much larger diffuser and light source.

Comments about Harbor Digital Design Bounce Diffuser:
Bought this to replace a standard lost Nikon diffuser for the SB-800. Is wider and curved to potentially have softer, wider output. Haven't tested it side-by-side with the standard Nikon or Stofen models, but seems to work. Will fall off the flash much easier though, does not click into place, just slides over top of flash. I like that i can put the new small Strobist Rosco gels inside the diffuser.

I use it for fill light outdoors shooting portraits over a sunset. It is compact and fits on the side pockets of my gear bag.

Comments about Harbor Digital Design Bounce Diffuser:
I purchased this as a replacement for the lost diffuser that came with my SB-800 and have really enjoyed it. I shoot weddings and portraits and find it provides a more even, softer light than the original 800's diffuser, when bounced, or pointed directly at the subject for fill. The SB-800's iTTL system works well with this. I love on-camera flash and prefer this unit to both the original Nikon diffuser and to the Gary Fong products I've used. It's easy to use, bigger and less expensive than the Nikon version, relatively compact, and allows a little direction to the light.
It's a good physical fit for the SB-800, though it will occasionally slip off when I'm not paying attention. The original Nikon diffuser half snaps into place, lightly locking to the flash head, the Harbor Design diffuser doesn't. There have been two times when I've had to retrace my steps around a reception venue looking for this thing. Now, I make sure it stays in place with a rubber band.
I like the light this puts out and prefer this to the overly-large, complex, battery-draining Gary Fong devices. I find it to be a good compromise between the small, square Nikon diffuser and larger light-bucket designs. The SB-800 fits in its nylon case, inside my camera bag with this attached. This is a great, simple diffuser and you can't beat the price.
