The Elinchrom Rotalux Deep OctaBox 39" diameter softbox emits a more focused soft light than most OctaBoxes when used with its included inner and outer diffuser. With either, or both of the diffusers removed, this box acts like a super-large reflector for your Elinchrom flash head.

Comments about Elinchrom 39" Rotalux Deep OctaBox:
I own several elinchrom modifiers, but the Deep Octa just blown me away, tue quality of light it produces is just amazing. I'm still trying with the four different configurations, and the one I do like so far is with the internal diffuser only, it produces a catch light like a star, just beautiful.

I was going to buy a beaury dish, but decided on this instead. Much better value, and with the flexability of the diffusers and deflectors, as well as it's parabolic shape, I can use this light for a whole range of purposes. Works great with my Ranger RS Speed AS.

Comments about Elinchrom 39" Rotalux Deep OctaBox:
I use this product on solo portraits and group shots, in the studio or on location. The OctaBox produces gorgeous light and has some configuration options to give you a different look (one, two diffusers or bare). It's a good size to take on location, but be prepared to have an assistant hold it down in any sort of breeze. Setup isn't too bad - I can usually have it up in a few minutes. Teardown is even quicker. The only downside really is the size, and that's just a downside because it catches a lot of wind. But of course, the larger the source relative to the subject, the softer the light. I'm happy to solve the logistic issues of having it on location because the light it produces is simply awesome.

Comments about Elinchrom 39" Rotalux Deep OctaBox:
Great light quality, easy to setup and use. Only minor complaint would be that the depth of the soft box can make set up a little cumbersome, but certainly not enough of a reason to avoid getting one.

Comments about Elinchrom 39" Rotalux Deep OctaBox:
Expensive but beautiful results. Think the 27" beauty dish I bought with this is overkill now since with the range of diffusers on the DO come close to the same results. Beautiful light, would buy it again in a heart beat.

This thing is amazing. It makes it way too easy to take incredible portraits. The fill is incredible. I admit it is huge, but I still manage to use in my street photography and travels. I use it with the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra system and it works great.

This incredible octa has replace my beauty dish on location, now I don't have to carry around my parabolic antenna anymore. In top of that the versatility of this box is amazing you have like ten different combinations between the front diffuser, the middle one and the included frosted deflector. It's very easy to setup and to breakdown

Comments about Elinchrom 39" Rotalux Deep OctaBox:
I've put together Creative and Photoflex softboxes and the quality and ease of assembly is nothing compared to the Elinchrom line. I was very satisfied. Also, the quality of light from this softbox is nothing less than stellar. I purchased one to use on location with my Ranger AS RX system. Looking to purchase two more for my 600RXs for use in studio.

I have also have the 27" version of this Rotalux Deep OctaBox by Elinchrom.
Both provide excellent, professional light. I could never use lesser light modifiers after using these.
Remove the outer baffle and you have a light as, if not more striking than what you would get from a beauty dish, but with less hassel than the dish.

I have only had this for a couple weeks and primarily do portraits with it at the moment. I like the flexibility of being able to use 3 different configurations to produce different results. The locking mechanism can be tricky to fight with you would expect this. I would also expect it will become easier to use as I get more practice using it. no complaints.

Comments about Elinchrom 39" Rotalux Deep OctaBox:
Its great in that it's lightweight, but what I did was modify it. I inverted the light source - I point my light into it from the front of the box, after having covered the hole with silver mylar. It give me a mini "parabola" effect, like the profoto series. I am also impressed with the sturdy construction.

This is a great modifier! sets up several different ways and get awesome results. Sweet!
My only problem with this modifier is that I found it super hard to open and close. Some people say its like an Umbrella and easy to open but totally disagree. This thing is super hard to close. opening it is not so bad but not by much. That is the only negative from me...

This octabox is great for indoor and outdoor portraits. The best part is that it's very light weight and so far has exceeded my expectations, especially outdoors. Rain or shine it holds up the entire shoot.

So easy to use, it's almost criminal. Elinchroms quality has shown another level with this product. So fast to setup going from location to location it'll cut down your setup and pull-down times to next to nothing.
