The Benro C-258n6 8x Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs is a lightweight, high-quality tripod that uses 8 layer, 2nd generation carbon fiber technology for its leg construction. This 8x tubing is 60% stronger overall than conventional carbon fiber tripods. This is achieved by using more fibers and less epoxy in the manufacturing blend.
C-series tripods feature individual leg angle adjustments, a reversible center column with spring loaded weight hook, foam leg grips, anti dust and moisture rubber leg lock grips, reversible 1/4-20 to 3/8" mounting threads, a compass and bubble level, and mounting set screws.

It is a very well constructed tripod. Supports my D-200, 24-70 f2.8 and SB-800 very well. I am sure it will support 70-200 vr also equally well. All operations are very smooth. Construction is very strong. I compared it with Induro and Gitzo's comparable tripods (2-series) at a local pro shop and found this as good as Induro and almost 95-98% of Gitzo in strength. Operations were as smooth as Gitzo. Considering the price I think Benro is definitely the winner.[...]

This tripod seemed to adjust easily at first, looked good and was very light weight. I also liked the bag, tools and spikes that came with the tripod. I purchased it before attending a photography workshop. When in the field I had problems with one leg which would not stay in place when locked and then the leg extension came off altogether. I noticed another leg wasn't aligning with the others too. The workshop instructor was curious about this tripod, he said he saw lots of Benro tripods used in China. Maybe mine was a lemon [...]. I'm now shopping for a new tripod.

Comments about Benro C-258n6 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
I was first hesitant about the twist locking mechanism but found out that you dont really need to turn it much to loosen/lock the legs. Carbon has a great finish and feel very solid. Weight was lighter than I expected for the size and diameter of the tubes. Very please with it so far but time will tell how well it holds up out there.

This pod by far the best deal out there and it is just not the price that makes it so good. It is solid, only light weight, and great on backpacks.

Comments about Benro C-258n6 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
Appears to look and function like the Gitzo equivalent. Has a nice case that can fit the unit with a ballhead attached. I decided to get the off brand tripod and spend the xtra money on the name brand ballhead. I think that was a wise move.

Comments about Benro C-258n6 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
I purchased this tripod for use in landscape and wildlife photography. I wanted something stable and had settled on the Gitzo as the tripod of choice. When I read the Benro reviews I decided to try one and see if the quality is as stated. I certainly was not disappointed. The operation of the leg locks is smooth and secure. The size and weight fit my needs for portability. A solid tripod at a great price.

Comments about Benro C-258n6 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
Just a little heavier than a Gitzo but way way more bang for the buck. I am a prior Gitzo Series 2 owner, and I sold my Gitzo on [...] and bought this Benro tripod, pocketing the spare [$]. Other than a trace extra weight, this is every bit as good as my Gitzo. Stiff, smooth, and thoughtfully made. I have nothing bad to say about this item.

Comments about Benro C-258n6 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
I recently purchased the Benro C-258ng tipod legs and so far I am quite satisfied. I use tripods for a variety of photos, including landscapes, close-ups, and portraits.
I was surprised how light the tripod is, even with a head mounted. Often when I travel and I have to pack light I carry a Gitzo carbon monopod, but since this tripod is about the same length as the monopod and not too much heavier, I will be using this tripod for most of my travel work, and in some cases where space or time may not permit I may even use it like the monopod. The leg release is smooth and easy, and locking is secure. I like the fit and finish; the workmanship seems excellent.

Comments about Benro C-258n6 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
This is my first carbon fiber, being a Bogen/Manfrotto fan forever. If you are making the jump to CF, you should look into Benro. Like others, I compared it to Induro (Benro, in China, makes both), Gitzo, and other. There is no reason to pay the extra $$ for Induro, there is very little from a build point of view that warrants the difference in price. The operation of this tripod is top shelf and compares to Gitzo. The locking mechanisms are solid. If you must have brand name and can afford it, by all means, go for it.. for the rest of us, thank you Benro.
