The ADVC-HDM1 HD-SDI to HDV Converter from Grass Valley is a studio production tool that converts HD-SDI to HDV signals and back. Able to interface with your editing system or as a standalone converter, the unit is ideal for recording video, along with embedded audio, from an HD-SDI source and encoding it for HDV workflows. It can also encode HD MPEG-2 transport streams up to a resolution of 1920 x 1080--at your choice of 8 different bit-rate settings--and will even input external timecode information during HDV encoding. A two-button control on the front panel lets you easily set the encoding/decoding and timecode modes.
Compatible with Windows and Mac NLE platforms that support HDV or HD-SDI, the converter requires no special drivers or software applications and fits perfectly in an optional 1RU rackmount kit.
