The Fantasea FD-70N housing for the Nikon D70 and D70s digital SLR cameras is a full-featured housing with interchangeable ports and a Nikonos-style bulkhead for a very economical price. The housing includes the standard flat port for the Nikon 18-70mm zoom lens with some zoom control. The port does limit the zoom range of the lens to 22-50mm. All essential camera controls including on/off can be accessed thought the housing allowing complete creative control in your underwater photography. The housing operates safely to a depth of 200' (60 m).
Camera installation is quick and simple and the gasket seal can be checked visually through the clear housing. The rear lid of the housing has been designed so it is impossible to put it on wrong. This minimizes the possibility of flooding the camera. In the rare case the housing does flood, one year of DEPP flood insurance for the camera body is included. The insurance covers product defects as well as user error.
The double handles allow easy attachment of strobe arms. The housing is sized and weighted for near-neutral buoyancy and superb handling underwater. External Strobes are recommend to improve the images by bring out the true colors and reducing the illumination of particles suspended in the water.
This Nikon digital camera allows manual operation with any underwater strobe. While i-TTL strobes in a housing will provide full i-TTL operation when connected to the housing with the standard Nikonos sync cord. An assortment of interchangeable lens ports allows use of most macro, wide-angle, and zoom lenses. A magnifier provided with the housing offers enhanced viewing while wearing a diving mask.
The included Fantasea FSB-800 Flash Housing is specifically designed for the Nikon SB 800 Speedlight. The housing provides full control for all flash functions including iTTL when used with the Fantasea FD-70N housing for the Nikon D70 and D70S cameras. The housing includes a 5-Pin Nikonos sync cord.
The Fantasea Medium Ball-Joint Arm Set is also included. This arm gives you complete lighting control since it is made up of two 7" arm sections. The lower connector base allows you to attach the arm to the Fantasea T1 connector. T1 connectors come standard on the handle of the Fantasea SLR housing. The head adapter allows you to put a Fantasea strobe housing or Sea & Sea strobe directly on the arm.
