Comments about Leash for Aqua Tech Sport Housings:
This leash is well designed for it's purpose... however, the "first generation" of this leash (with a smaller gauge wire) actually broke during some heavy surf photography. The newer version looks much stronger, but I have not had a chance to "push it's limits" as I did the previous version. Hopefully it will hold up well.

Comments about Leash for Aqua Tech Sport Housings:
This leash is comfortable and unobtrusive... however, it did break while getting tumbled in a medium sized wave during a surf shoot. Fortunately, my camera and housing did not get washed up on rocks or coral and I was able to retrieve my camera without damage. Bottom line, I would not trust this leash too much. It will fail when conditions get a bit extreme (at least mine did).

Comments about Leash for Aqua Tech Sport Housings:
While shooting in France, the first shorebreak (maybe shoulder high) I ducked, ripped my housing from my hands and snapped the leash at the join point. This was the first wave the leash had experienced. I came very close to losing my housing. Aquatech were very good in replacing my leash with a couple of replacements, however since then I have been very weary of my remaining leashes and now only wear them in small surf. Perhaps I received a defective leash; however it has left me very cautious. That aside, a great, lightweight, non-obtrusive leash. I would recommend this leash for small surf only (just in case).

bringing your expensive camera and your expensive water housing to shoot in the ocean? then you must have this. you will feel more comfortable to swim around and it is one less thing to worry about. it looks fragile but it is just fine. when the wave comes, you still have to hold on your camera. this is just a back up, or in case you need to fix your helmet and leave your cam floating.
