I am a middle school teacher with very little monetary resources and even less lighting experience. Dave S. guided me toward the purchase of these lights and I am delighted with the difference it has made on my broadcast set. Hey you can actually see everybody and everything! It was a challenge putting it together and I still need some help with some of the parts but the price was right and my students and I are very satisfied.

Used the lights for location photography and video of a manufacturing company. Beautiful light quality without flicker. Easy to move from area to area. The light stands extend much higher than expected and are stable when fully extended. It's great to work with always on lights that aren't hot. The ability to individually set each light to be either off or on is great. We were working in large open areas, so we always had all the lights on.

I use the product fir lighting video interviews. I love the fact that the lights have variable intensity and the kit comes with everything u need to set them up. My kit came with adequate instructions and product assembly seemed self explanatory. I recommend using small washers with the provided screws that hold the reflectors to the light itself. It is all too easy to strip the screws in the lightweight aluminum light. They provide a tremendous amount of soft, cool light and work wonderful for indoor shoots.

i was in a trip in NYC and i need some cheap light for a 10 days only, and that was def perfect, so many portrait, and very flexible... i was decided to buy this product from the other review i saw here and i have to tell, now the product come with good instruction, and very easy to use....

After considering other lighting options I decided to go with these lights based on the reviews by semi-professional to professional photo/video users. I am very glad that I opted to spend a little bit more for these.

I've seen and used some of the less expensive options found on other sites, and the questions of quality raised in the reviews are accurate. You might be able to setup and breakdown those cheaper sets a few times, but parts and fittings will break, and the plastic hinges and clamps are under-engineered for the weight of the lights.

Not so with this set. I expect to be able to keep these for years and will have no hesitation transporting, setting up and breaking down this set frequently.

4 starts for quality and ease of use. Would have been five stars if there was a case for each device to keep the parts together while storing or moving to a new location.

These light are great for the price. The do run very quiet and very cool. Their light output is pretty good. I'm hoping I can swap out the bulbs for even more powerful ones and get more light. But it's output is great.

The soft boxes seemed a little small, but effective. The assemble of the whole system is a little bit of a pain, but it all is sturdy and seems well made. I'm thinking these should last a long time, and should allow me to keep them plugged in a long time.

I'm starting to use these as my key and fill lights for my green screen setup. I like the five bulb setup with these lights. Being able to turn off part but not all lights is nice. Lights were a little challenging to set up at first but I quickly figured out how.

I purchased this kit to serve as light source for a green screen project (hi-def video). I was previously using tungsten spots for lighting which created hot spots that needed to be dealt with during the keying process. No matter how much I experimented with focus and placement of the tungsten lights I just couldn't get the fill even.

This light kit fixed that problem immediately. It provides nice, even lighting of the green screen surface without generating much heat. I found the assembly to be rather intuitive, in spite of other reviews.

For the money, an excellent option. They also serve as a nice key/fill source for talking head applications. I doubt they provide enough light for farther shots, but I haven't tried so that's just a hypothesis.

Overall, very happy with this kit.

We bought these lights for my wife to use while photographing her paintings. [...] The quality of the lights, the metal reflectors, and the stands seem to be fairly good, but the soft boxes are a bit cheap and very difficult to put together. Luckily, my wife likes the reflectors better than the soft boxes so this should not be a problem for us. She also uses them for a light source while she paints as well now that she has them along with her regular lights source. Overall, a good buy for a fairly good product as long as you don't expect much from the soft boxes. If you do want the soft boxes as your primary light source, you might want to step up to something a little more professional.

Good functionality. Lighting is good. Not too bad to assemble. May be tricky to dis- and reassemble on the fly. A very good value.

The lights work very well for our video needs.

The cool light is great for long video shoots in the studio as they won't cause the talent to to sweat. The lights can be bright when needed or turned down when not as much light is needed.

The instructions were a bit lacking, if I had not put similar softboxes together in the past this would have been much more of an issue.
