The Speedotron Black Line 805 Power Pack is engineered for reliability and safety. Weighing in at 7.7 lbs, the 805 pack fits quickly and easily into a location kit for individual portraits, or small tabletop setups. Comments about Speedotron #805 - 800 Watt/Second Power Supply (120VAC):
I'll give it 5 stars, b/c for the money I can't find a pack w/ this speed, and flexibility. The only Con is the durability comes w/ a price of weight. Not to much at 800w/s, but the bigger ones increase. The flash duration is a little long for certain uses.
I have tripped breakers w/ this-- the pack draws 15 to ~17 amps. If you put it on a household 20 amp circuit, you have to make sure that circuit is not being used by other devices. All most all the circuits I've ever tripped (and this is my location pack) have been kitchen circuits (the 'fridge pulls amps) or a communial hotel circuit (older ones are the worse).
I've _never_ tripped any commercial 30 amp breakers, or any new circuits that didn't have a heating or cooling device on them (washer/dryer running, etc). That amp draw does give you 1.8 second recycle at full power though :)

Great size pack. Able to power down low for SLR camera. Just what I needed.
One big problem so far. It keeps blowing breakers, even at the lowest setting. I am frustrated with this. Also, it comes with a 1/4" jack for sync. I had to make a sync connection for my pocket wiz. Also, the strobe input jacks are so close to the handle and hard to unplug.
