The OmniPod Omni-Pro7 Camera/Camcorder Support Platform is the pro model in the Omni-Pod line of beanbags. It provides a larger support area, and more support with its increased 3.5 lbs weight. This beanbag-style support platform comes with a 1/4"-20 screw fastened and sewn into it's durable shell. It can be used to stabilize an SLR camera, camcorder, or spotting scope, or anything that features a 1/4"-20 tripod socket. A rugged flexible non-skid bottom insures stability on the most severe incline or slippery surface.

Comments about OmniPod Omni-Pro7 Camera/Camcorder Support Platform - Black:
After years using three different models of "the pod" beanbag platforms, I decided to try this "new kid on the block" and am disappointed. My main beef is that the the base beneath the mounting screw is too small, about 1x3 inches, and does not provide enough bottom support to the camera for precise, stay-in-place aiming. The one thing that I do like about it is the rubbery bottom that keeps it from sliding around on my car's dashboard. All in all, a good first effort but not quite ready for prime time.

I used this product on a trip to Churchill to see the polar bears - it was just excellent - steadied my camera when shooting thru open windows with long lens. It really was a great help and I was so glad I had it. It worked in places that a tripod just wouldn't fit.

Comments about OmniPod Omni-Pro7 Camera/Camcorder Support Platform - Black:
I purchased the Omni-Pro7 Beanbag support platform for my D700...mainly due to the fact that it had a tripod screw to secure the bag to the camera, and I didn't want to carry a tripod on a recent business trip. The beanbag worked just like it was supposed to. Without moving parts or anything really there to break, it was as expected. Its weight is nice and heavy for a big camera. My only complaint (and its a small one) is that it was a little over filled, and a little hard to position perfectly...probably nit picking at this point. I would recommend this item.

Used this bag on a recent trip to Churchill, Manitoba. Allowed good stabilization of heavy tele lens while supported on window or rail of Polar Rover photographing bears at long distance.

Very useful when shooting in Nature Preserves that confine you to your car, bus etc. Drapes well over a window, steadies on a ferry rail and allows you to mount your camera or lens and move the bag and gear as a unit. I wish that it allowed me to empty it for reduced weight when boarding a plane. You can always buy beans on location.

Comments about OmniPod Omni-Pro7 Camera/Camcorder Support Platform - Black:
I use the Omni-Pro7 for lightning photography. It works great when hung on a branch or a railing. It is perfectly stable for 30 to 60 second exposures, but if you don't balance it perfectly, it could tip off the object it is sitting on. The strap that it comes with is not long enough. The beans that are inside leak out (not many, maybe 1 or 2 when you set it down.) The support also is hard to attach to a camera body in a hurry, you have to twist either the heavy beanbag, or spin your camera around and around- quite annoying.
