Comments about Speedotron D1604 Power Supply (120V):
I recently bought the 1600 watt pack(along with various Brownline lampheads), and liked the inexpensive price. It supplies enough power to get a good large format exposure, and has a very low sync voltage, so you don't need to worry about damaging your digital cameras with it. The audiable beep is handy feature on the power pack so you know when you can fire the strobes consistently.
Problems Encountered: I had shot various weddings and moving subjects with it, and found that the durration of the flash was long and could not freeze a splash of water full or half power settings. If your subject is fast moving...don't plan on getting it tack sharp with Brownline equipment unless your camera can sync a flash at high shutter speeds.
