This is an Elinchrom 3.5 mm Jack to EL-Amphenol Sync Cord. It is 16' (5 m) long, and it is used to hardwire Elinchrom flash packs or monolights in cases where the units are too far-spread for the optical slaves to function. It may also be used in cases where your radio slave is ineffective, or not allowed.

Comments about Sync Cord - Male 3.5mm to Elinchrom Amphenol - 16':
This cable is necessary to connect you Pocketwizard FlexTT5 (or similar) to the Elinchrom Ranger RX units. It's a shame a proprietary connection is used at the Ranger end, as I'm sure everyone would already have plenty of similar cables if they were simply male 3.5mm to male 3.5mm, however as it is needed and not supplied by Elinchrom, this cable does the trick!
The length of the cable is a slight drawback as your Pocketwizard has no advantage being further away from the Ranger - a 5cm cable would have cut it nicely. Me, I leave the cable wound with it's cable tie in place as I have no need for my FlexTT5 to be physically apart from my Ranger
