The Custom Brackets Digital PRO-E Camera Rotation Bracket Kit is the economical choice for a pro-quality bracket for use with Digital SLR camera systems. Unlike the other brackets in this Digital line, this model does not feature the flip-over flash arm, which helps to make this bracket more light-weight. The unique rotation system which rotates the camera around the center of the lens allows for locking not just at the vertical or horizontal axis but anywhere in between as well.
The kit includes the CMP Universal Camera Mounting Plate, which is a reversible camera plate that works with all cameras, with or without a vertical grip. The camera screw is also adjustable to match cameras of different depths.
Requires an optional flash mounting plate. Please click here to see a listing of custom plates.
Note! Not recommended for shoe mounted infrared modules, e.g. Metz 54, 70, 76, Canon ST-E2 etc.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-E Camera Rotation Bracket with CMP Universal Camera Plate:
I fell in love with Yuri Arcurs' monopod setup with 90 degree camera pivot. A fantastic way to stabilize a camera without sacrificing maneuverability. However, I also needed a bracket that allowed me to mount my 580-EX II speed light and keep it above the camera whether in portrait or landscape format. My original was a used $50 pivot bracket with no flash mount. That lasted all of 6 months. After some research, I came away feeling very confident in the PRO-E system. Now after more than a year of use, I never leave home without it. It travels with me on all my photo shoots. 99 percent of the time it stays attached to my Manfrotto monopod but when I just need the camera it is a simple process to unscrew the post if I need use of the bracket. Otherwise I just remove the camera by means of a Manfrotto quick-release system. I use the monopod in both the extended and folded position to help stabilize the camera. Extended I rest it on the ground and folded I can press the post against my body for added balance and support. The only weakness I have in this setup is the speedlight to flash cord connection. I still don't know why flash guns have such small, weak hot shoes. But that's a different issue.

I shoot a lot of weddings and have had real problems with shadows and lighting at some event locations. While searching for solutions, I read reviews on several products which led me to the Pro-E. I'm glad I spent the money. I was able to put together the brackets without a whole lot of thinking and it works like a charm; Both horizontally and vertically. Can't wait to use it at my next event.

Seems to be the perfect combination of ease of use, lightweight and solid construction. The palm pad in the middle makes it so easy to hold while zooming. While Custom Brackets sells their own adapter to use this with a Manfrotto RC2 quick release tripod head, the Manfroto QR plate screws right in and works just fine for me. I liked it so much on my 5D with a battery grip, that I bought a second for my 7D with no grip.

This is the first bracket I've owned that I can rave about; it's sturdy, holds securely in any position, and isn't so weighty it wears me out halfway through an event.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-E Camera Rotation Bracket with CMP Universal Camera Plate:
I used this bracket at a wedding and was really impressed with the ease of use. The camera rotation was simple and easy, after a couple of times, it was natural to rotate the camera. At first I thought the weight was going to detract from the overall job, but it didn't. I hardly noticed the weight while taking close to 1000 shots in 6 hours. this is definitely a well made bracket. FYI, when using the Canon 580 EX II and the Canon flash cable, you do not need any additional brackets to connect your flash or to keep your flash from rotating side to side. I would like to see a set of "feet" to add to this bracket so you can stand your camera up instead of having to lay it down.

This is the type of gear you should comfortably spend your money on. Very well-built and very well designed, the CB's Digital Pro will allow you to work quickly, effectively and without the concern of problems associated to it. I strongly recommend this bracket.

I'm giving 4 stars because I have not used this on a shoot yet. It has a smooth action to rotate the camera and nothing needs to be lifted, turned, or screwed, just push the camera and it moved the mount. The recommended accessory bracket on this unit, for a Canon flash, is not needed if you use the Canon flash cable. This item is not for the quick, action shots. It will take several shoots to get used to. Best used for portraits or weddings or anything in the studio.

Used the Pro-E for a wedding this past weekend, it worked great. Much easier that my flip type bracket which it replaced. No more haveing to adjust my SB800, it stays put. The only issue was on occasion when useing the camera strap around the neck the bracket would rotate on its own, why i'm not sure, but it would be nice if they used a stiffer spring for the locking ball bearing.

Love it! I'm a small female, and rotating the camera is very quick and easy for me. Makes a definite improvement in my picture quality. Only negatives for me are the weight (got REALLY heavy for a long wedding shoot) and the little bar that comes out in front of the lens. I'm assuming that the palm of my hand is supposed to rest on that bar, but my hands are small and that gives me only fingertip control of my zoom and focus. Worked fine, but it would be much more comfortable if I could get my hand closer to the lens. Overall a really great product.

This is the 3rd Bracket I have tried. I love this bracket. It is so easy to rotate the camera. Very pleased. Photographed a wedding and another photographer had this bracket and after fighting with my old bracket through the whole event I went home and ordered this one.

Wonderful product and YES I recommend it to all. The camera rotates to the left and I prefer to the right so I have to teach myself how to handle that. The photo has the sync cord so I thought it came with that. [...]
