I was absolutely stunned at the quality of this product in terms of its engineering, ease of use and functionality. It puts every similar piece I've seen and used to shame.
I needed a rather heavy duty unit to directly mount a speed ring for an extra large (54"x72"x32") softbox, hanging an Einstein strobe off of the speed ring. The softbox generates far more leverage than the strobe, and I was not confident that the stobe's speedring mount could handle the weight of that softbox.
After taking one look at this adapter following its delivery, I was confident that this unit provides a significant strength safety factor, giving me a high level of comfort. It gives me the flexibility to easily aim the light, and the confidence that it will stay put.
As an rather picky engineer myself, it just feels good to use, it's beautifully made, and the mechanical advantages engineered into its design are immediately evident.

I use this to mount a small strobe and an umbrella on a small light stand. It works great, is well made but I should probably update this review after I've used it for about 10 years or so, assuming I'm still in photography. I may take up another career, probably something in radio because my face is pretty hideous. It actually looks like this clamp, if you can believe it.
