The HD-Connect MX Professional HDMI to HD/SD-SDI Converter from Convergent Design is a professional-level HDMI to HD/SD-SDI converter and multi-purpose video device with (2) identical HDMI outputs. Instead of buying multiple devices and equipment, take advantage of this solution's varied functionality and make it a cornerstone in your studio setup. This unit is completely digital and does not perform digital-to-analog or analog-to-digital conversions.

It can create tape dubs to digi-Beta or HDCAM and import genlock video from affordable camera decks into an SDI-based studio. It may also be used to de-embed AES audio and LTC time code from your HDMI camera or deck. Moreover, it is capable of converting DVI sources to HD/SD-SDI as well. The unit will also play 720p and 1080i HDV and DV tapes in Sony HDV cameras and decks with HD/SD-SDI output, allowing you to forgo the cost of extra decks. You may also use it to play back consumer-grade HDV camera tapes at the same quality or higher as end decks, including scaling.

This unit features support for 720/29.97p, 720/25p, 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 486i and 576i HDMI. It eliminates long-GOP (HDV) editing and associated render times by enabling real-time conversion of HDV to DNxHD, DVCProHD, and other i-Frame codecs. Support for YUV 4:2:2 or RGB 4:4:4 HDMI is also standard.

This unit is compatible with Sony HDCam and DigiBeta decks. It has also been verified to work with Avid Adrenaline HD, Avid DS Nitris, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro (with AJA or Blackmagic Card), Adobe Premiere, Media 100, and Quantel products.
