Comments about Lenspen Panamatic Panorama Adapter Plate:

Just screw onto tripod, then screw camera onto it, level tripod using bubble. It rotates for up to 12 pictures (360/12 = 30 degrees?).
(Instructions on packaging none on device)

(This is easier than I was expecting, since you just rotate the wheel on the device which clicks to the next 30 degrees. I was expecting it would help me rotate the tripod by keeping it level and showing how much I had rotated it. I image all these devices work like this, but being this easy it makes them all more worthwhile)

The rotating wheel does rock a bit but seems to settle back to the same position when you let go of it for a shot.

My tripod and monopod use a quick release plate, but with this added it makes the camera too bulky to put in case, so it is a bit like not have a QR.
And after you remove it you have to attach the QR back to the camera to use the tripod without this . . .

I have yet to use it much, since I left on a backpacking trip just after it came and decided not to bother with it. I have taken hand held panos, but I have also had to crop quite allot to make them line up etc. Other than taking enlarge shots this should work nicely.

I don't have an experience with similar items.

Comments about Lenspen Panamatic Panorama Adapter Plate:

LensPens' marvelous and inexpensive Panamatic® accessory makes panoramic exposures nearly seamless. You can attach a ball tripod head (we love the Manfrotto #488 because of the weight and firm locks) to the top of a ladder or a tall tripod. The Panamatic allow rapid leveling of the camera base so 360 degree pans are exactly level, no matter the ground you're on or the tilt of your ladder or tripod. There are other "leveling heads" but none we've found in this price range approach this one with speed of use and accuracy.

If you are shooting a panorama from a tripod, then this will make your life a lot easier. The only thing that's missing is a built-in level.

Comments about Lenspen Panamatic Panorama Adapter Plate:

This is a very inexpensive device for taking panoramic photos. Of course you need to set it up on a sturdy tripod. Otherwise, it's much more accurate in covering the entire panorama.

With this product, I can easily get a panorama job done well. The level bubble keeps the camera horizontal. The rotating indexer really helps the process of taking panorama photos.
