I considered other stands before deciding on the 12150. I'm glad I picked the 12150 even though it cost more. This stand is well built and sets up super fast. K&M even makes a carrying case that this stand will fit in.

I originally bought it for my mobile fingerprinting business but I can see other uses for it. I am very happy with my purchase.

this is a stand for a musical conductor to hold his sccore.

hitting the keyboard of a laptop shakes the stand.
i wish that wasn't the case, as its size was perfect.

also, no instructions come with the stand, and the german manufacturer
does not have a u.s. address, web site or phone.

though easy enough to put together, an instruction sheet will tell you the parts included.

and so, i returned this item.

Awesome stand! Very sturdy and it looks good. If you own a Macbook pro i7 make sure you put the 4 rubber feet that comes with it on the top of stand otherwise the 2 silver bolts will scratch the bottom of your notebook.

I've purchased many K&M stands they are high quality and I've never had a problem with them.

German engineered and solid. I trust this stand to hold my Macbook Pro 17" laptop while I'm doing tethered photo shoots.

Bolts and holes are precision machined. Everything sets up in seconds. A great value.

This is great to put the laptop on to run the teleprompter in the field. I have also found several other uses for this item. I would buy it again!

I bought this stand to shoot tethered with my laptop along side a tripod for portraits. When it came I was surprised on the quality & construction of the stand. It sets up under 10 seconds! The plate, knobs & legs are extremely well made! Its not inexpensive but you'll see why: There's another company that makes a laptop stand cfor the same application called Lizell Quickstand Plus which is about $20.00 less but it does not compare to the sturdiness and build quality of this one. This adjusts up to 4ft. high whereas the Lizell only goes up to 2.5 ft., It also has a mouse plate just under the main plate(the only stand that comes with one which I dont use) And last but not least - It's Made in Germany! When it comes to engineering no other country does it better.

Application Use: I found use for it in places I never imagined! Next to my bed as I'm laying down is the most common, kitchen, park, poolside, on location photo shoots, and just about anyhwere you can use your laptop (BTW, laptop pc's shouldn't be named Laptop anymore as most of us never use it on our laps or at least its difficult to use it on your lap unless your watching a movie but even then you can only do that for so long :)

For me it's worth every penny! As my laptop is now on it 90% of the time.
