I used this printer at party taking shoots and selling them on the spot and my customers were so amazed requesting 5 and 6 copies. The great thing is that the ink is easy and quick to change and most of all I printed over 40 copies without having to change one ink color. It was a great investment the only down side was that it was a bit slower than it's brother the Epson R220 but prints look much better

I believe I am just spoiled because I have always owned higher-end Epson printers. The quality of photos, even using Epson ink and Epson Premium Glossy Photo pager is not impressive to me. They difference is just in overall sharpness/crispness of the picture. For most, it probably wouldn't even be noticed.

For the money this is a great printer. With 6 ink colors my prints look fantastic. Great black reprodution and a nice range of print sizes upto 44" long. Nice for panoramics.

I use this printer to run labels and file folder tags mainly and to do 4x6 pictures I take. It works well and the print quality is superb. If you are in need of a home photo printer and don't want to spend alot then I suggest you look into this model. I hear it likes to eat up ink but we will see.

I've used this printer at my full-time job for about 6 months mostly for printing CDs and DVDs. They look like they were professionally printed! This printer also does a great job on paper and envelopes too.
The ink is a little expensive, but they seem to last quite awhile and can be replaced individually, which is nice.
Overall, a great printer for the money. In fact, I was so satisfied with it at work that I recently purchased one of my own for my home business when my old printer gave out on me.

This printer is a replacement for my every-day printing needs at my house and for printing DVDs. The DVDs look great. The every-day printing is great. I'm not getting perfect color-matching despite a full colorsync workflow (Mac OS X 10.5.7), but I'm also pretty picky about those things. The DVD-printing software is easy but not powerful - expect to design in something like photoshop or Omnigraffle and export to tiff or something. It prints fast. Surprisingly I don't see any "draft" mode on it, but it's pretty fast w/o.

The R280 is an excellent printer. I bought it strictly for printing on DVDs. The sharpness and resolution is fantastic. One quirky thing, always turn the printer on with the tray in "paper" position (as opposed to DVD position), to avoid the printer thinking there is an error. Other than that, it's a great machine!

I purchased this because I needed to print on CD/DVDs --which it does beautifully. I actually hadn't planned to print photos with in. One day, just as an experiment, I printed some 8x10s and they were the best looking prints I'd ever seen come off an ink jet printer --absolutely stunning.
I would highly recommend this printer.

I bought this printer primarily to print on CD-R's. The print quality is outstanding, and the software included is very easy to use. I had some difficulty installing from the CD and ended up installing each component one at a time, and that worked OK. I have printed text and photos on presentation paper and on photo paper with good results as well. Matching paper with the print quality is essential for good results: when I didn't do this I often got a result that looked fuzzier than it should have, even on the best setting. The ink levels are easy to monitor, though it takes longer for a cartridge to run out than the picture implies ("buy more sooner"). All in all I am very happy with this printer.

The quality on this printer is amazing! I print 8.5x11" pictures in about a minute. No problem with ink smudged or having to wait hours for the ink to dry. I can touch the picture right after it comes out of the printer with no problem. I've printed off 4 or 5 copies of pictures already and had them framed for people. I love this printer!
