The Axis Communications AXIS 211A Surveillance Kit is presented as a comprehensive solution for medium sized security applications looking to monitor multiple locations in high resolution over a network. Each camera comes equipped with a built-in microphone and audio I/O ports for two-way voice communication. This makes it particularly well suited for use in manufacturing sites, shipping facilities, schools, transportation hubs and numerous other applications requiring the ability to see as well as hear and speak with a person at a camera location.
Once installed and connected to a network, all ten cameras can be accessed for viewing from virtually anywhere in the world simply by logging on to a standard Internet browser.
- Simultaneous JPEG/MPEG-4 Streaming
- Video is captured simultaneously in both the JPEG and MPEG-4 compression formats. This will allow a user, for example, to view live images over a WAN in the fast MPEG-4 format and at the same time record high resolution JPEG images to a local LAN server.
- Power over Ethernet (PoE)
- In addition to operating on standard DC voltage, this camera, when used in conjunction with an optional PoE feeder, can be powered solely by its Ethernet cable. PoE makes it possible to install the camera in areas with no direct access to an AC outlet such as certain hallway and ceiling installations or when the camera is placed inside an outdoor housing. When used together with a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), PoE also has the ability to keep the camera running during a power outage.
- Built-In Microphone for 2-Way Voice Communication
- By using an optional speaker together with this camera's built-in microphone, a PC user can hear and speak with a person at the camera location over the network. This is a very useful feature in numerous applications including retail stores, factories and transportation facilities.
- Built-in Motion Detection with Pre and Post Alarm Image Capture
- At the event of an alarm triggered by its internal motion detector, this camera can be set to start capturing images or transfer them to a server over the network. To ensure that users remain apprised of all conditions, the camera will also send out an alarm alert along with associated images to multiple Email addresses over the network. Images preceding and following an alarm event are also captured, giving a user the full sense of an occurrence.
