The WizCom SuperPen Professional Pen Scanner is a hand-held scanner that enables users to scan professional terms and receive instantaneous definitions from one or a number of the on-board professional dictionaries, and integrated Text-to-Speech technology enables users to pronounce new words with confidence, making it the reading tool of choice for students and professionals alike.
The WizCom SuperPen Professional can also scan, store and transfer text - thereby enabling users on the go to capture essential printed data - anytime and anywhere. It can store over 1,000 pages of printed text, which can be transferred to a PC, or PDA and can be viewed with just about any Windows application including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Built in Text-to-Speech technology provides immediate word-by-word pronunciation of a scanned English word or full line of text.
- Captures up to 1,000 pages of printed text.
- Optical character recognition (OCR) recognizes 6-22 point font size text (bold, italic, underlined, inverted) at 97% accuracy. There is also a preference setting for numerical and inverted text recognition and Alternative input tools are included for entering words that you can't scan (e.g., street signs).
- Transfer data easily to PC or PDA via Infra-red (IrDA) or USB interface
- Compact and ergonomic design measures 6 x 1.5 x 1" and is also lightweight at a mere three ounces.

This device works as advertised. Scanning works well if you use it as they ask you to. I ran into some installation/connection-to-pc issues but searching on Google helped to resolve those issues. I am happy using this device to scan my favorite quotes from books. Doesn't seem to work well on magazines. The screen is small for reviewing what was just scanned. All in all a successful purchase.
