The WizCom SuperPen is a hand-held scanner and translator that includes access to over 30 downloadable language dictionaries to enable users to scan full lines of text, receive instantaneous word-by-word translation/s and Integrated Text-to-Speech technology enables users to pronounce English words with confidence, making it the reading tool of choice for students and travelers alike.
The WizCom SuperPen can also Scan, Store and Transfer text - thereby enabling users on the go to capture essential printed data - anytime and anywhere. It can store over 1,000 pages of printed text, which can be transferred to a PC, or PDA and can be viewed with just about any Windows application including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Over 30 Available Dictionaries with Latin and Germanic languages bi-directional with English and all other languages are from English to the destination language.

- Optical character recognition (OCR) recognizes 6-22 point font size text (bold, italic, underlined, inverted) at 97% accuracy. There is also a preference setting for numerical and inverted text recognition and Alternative input tools are included for entering words that you can't scan (e.g., street signs).

The SuperPen Translator Pen, in my estimation, is somewhat of a misnomer. Its only function that serves as a true translator is its dictionary and, even then, only translates from other languages to English with any adeptness. The notes function does not translate English to other languages on the pen's display; it must be transferred to your PC, then translated by a 3rd party application. My wife, whose native language is Portuguese, did not find the pen particularly useful. Even after calling the manufacturer, the customer service rep. admitted that the name and described capabilities of the scanner were a little misleading. All in all, it was a disappointing purchase.
