Comments about Wiley Publications Book: Macro Photography Photo Workshop:
I am getting into Macro photography and this book gave me pointers, and len (glass) that the pro use. In every page there is a picture so you can see what they mean. The only thing they could give more detail on how to and with what lens or lens I have what I can do and how to.
Comments about Wiley Publications Book: Macro Photography Photo Workshop:
Good tips, but it is for basic and intermediate am. photographers.

Comments about Wiley Publications Book: Macro Photography Photo Workshop:
As a beginner in Macro Photography, I found this book useful. It was thorough starting at the beginning by describing what macro photography is and the various pieces of equipment needed. The author then moves into more technical information such as lighting and depth of field. In his photos, he fully describes which camera was used, which lens, f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, and additional information. At the end of each chapter he gives an "assignment" and encourages you to post your photo on a particular web site.
He goes beyond the most obvious macro subjects of flowers and insects. He covers everyday objects, beauty of textures, abstracts, and people. The book is filled with many photos to learn from.
I like the fact that it was not written so technically that I could not understand it. It was easy reading.Highly recommended for the beginner who wants to learn about macro photographer.

Comments about Wiley Publications Book: Macro Photography Photo Workshop:
This is a great book that is both informative and interesting to read. It teaches you how to take good close-up shots of anything and everything. Photography basics like flash, composition, and depth of field are also covered to help you out. One of the things I really liked about this book is that each photo's caption explains what equipment and which settings were used to take the photo. I think this is a great idea and helps the reader to imitate the images in the book.
I also love that there are assignments to get the reader more actively involved with the learning process. Instead of the author just telling the reader about macro photography, he gives you "homework" to do along with suggestions for how to do it.
There's a whole chapter on flower photography as well as an entire chapter on insect photography, with a bunch of beautiful examples. This book is filled with fascinating macro images that will inspire you to get out there and shoot some yourself!
