Trendnet TU2-ET100 USB 2.0 to 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter
The TU2-ET100 USB 2.0 to 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter from Trendnet is a high-speed USB network adapter that allows you to connect to a 10/100Mbps network from a desktop or notebook PC USB port. It is compliant with the USB 2.0 standard and therefore also backwards compatible with USB 1.0 and 1.1. Use this convenient adapter to connect your PC to the internet or a network without a network card or integrated Ethernet port.
This device is compliant with IEEE 802.3 and 802.3u standards. It also supports suspended mode and hibernate mode to remotely wake-up through link-up or magic packet. LED lights provide a visual indicator of line status. The adapter offers plug-and-play installation and is compatible with most versions of Windows and Mac operating systems.

I have the previous model TU-et100C, I ordered this to have a back up to the one I carry with me daily as I own a computer repair service in SoCal.
The previous model would always load a generic driver from windows no matter which version of windows the computer had and be configured in about two minutes tops. This newer model has yet to work without me installing the driver software on the CD that it shipped with. Once the driver is installed it works and works well. If you are going to use it on one computer and only one, Then this is a very good device.
I just need the mobility and this will not work for me long term which is a pity actually as I happen to like Trendnet gear.

I needed a USB adapter to use on my series 2 TiVo system. I knew the TiVos had a difficult time with adapters (mostly since they can't take any kind of CDs), so I was a little nervous getting any adapter. But this product worked great! I just plugged it in and it worked! My older TiVo handled the device just fine with no problems. If you're looking for an adapter for a TiVo system, this product works perfect!!

I stumbled upon this device while looking for TRENDnet's older model TU-ET100C which unfourtunatley has been discontinued. As a computer repair guy, the older model was great because it was a "driverless" installation. In other words, I could plug it into a machine with a fresh copy of Windows and I'd be off and running to the web to download all the drivers I need for the system without having to install drivers from a disk for the adapter itself.
This new model TU2-ET100 kept poping up as the newer version of the same device. This one however is not a "driverless" installation. You must put the disk in and install the driver in order for it to work. A huge let down for me.....I just want my old one back, but I lost it some how. :(
If you're not in need of a true "driverless" install, then It will probably work great for you. Although, if this is the "New" version, why not have gigabit speeds incorporated as well?

Purchased to connect a Wii to a cable router through an Ethernet cable to watch streaming Netflix. The setup was easy, just plugged-in the adapter, connected the cable, went into the Wii setup and told it to update, inserted the Netflix disk and I was done.
