I was looking for a decent portable headphone amp. Being familiar with the Line6 Pod 2.0, I figured the Pocket Pod would do exactly what I needed. I wasn't disappointed. It has a variety of good sounds right out of the box and is almost infinitely tweakable.
I can also throw it in my guitar case as a backup for my amp at gigs.

Comments about Line 6 Pocket POD - Portable Amp and Effects Modeler for Guitar:
I upgraded from the Pocket POD Express and am amazed at the huge number of effects that are packed into this little package.
Pros:
- Small but powerful/versatile
- Awesome sound via headphone or through a floor amp
- Customizable via software from the Line 6 website
Cons:
- No power supply in the basic package (corrected with a $9 power supply online)
- So many options with limited buttons--sometimes take a contortion artist to push all the buttons and turn dials or hit the 4-way pad at the same time
I was impressed by the Pocket POD Express and I am very pleased with the Pocket POD!

I love the tones this thing produces, I use it all the time for practice with jam tracks on my iphone. Sometimes it's a little difficult to find the specific tone you're looking for, the UI could be a little easier to use.

If your objective is a good practice headphone amp with a few extras and not spend too much money, this is a good solution. Incredible versatility in a small package. You can plug in your itunes, even output into a small amp. This isn't a pedal, so it probably isn't what you want to perform. Does chew batteries fast, but still love it!

Great little unit. I use it both on its own with headphones and through several amps. The ability to play along with an Ipod is a great feature. The only two (small) downsides are: the clip does not fit well on a guitar strap and it goes through batteries fairly quickly.

Comments about Line 6 Pocket POD - Portable Amp and Effects Modeler for Guitar:
I purchased my Pocket POD to help spice-up my sound for practicing around the house. Wanting more than just a one-trick pony pedal, I chose the Pocket POD for its wide array of modifiable sounds and portability. Not expecting all that much from a sub [$]unit, I was surprised by the sound quality of the preset sounds - most were remarkably better than those of an older, more expensive effects unit I had been using. The Pocket POD's USB connectivity was also a selling point for me, but to date, I have only used it to edit sounds via the down-loadable editor software. The controls are manageable, despite their size and plastic composition. My only complaint about my Pocket POD would be the battery life, but one could purchase a power supply for it - something I need to do. Based on my experience, I'd say that the Pocket POD is a great little device for practicing and playing around the house, particularly given its inexpensive price-tag.
