The Imaging Unit (OPC drum cartridge) for the Konica Minolta Magicolor 7450 Printer accepts the image projected by the printer's laser diode onto its drum, then the image is transferred to the transfer belt and then to the media. The Imaging Unit is typically good for 50,000 prints.

Comments about Konica Magenta Imaging Unit:
Imaging Uint was packaged poorly by Konica Monolta. Install instructions were taped to unit but also problematically taped to the protective shield. When removing instructions, taped pulled protective shield out of unit exposing imaging cylinder. Protective shield is supposed to be removed only after unit is installed. KM should address this. It could lead to easily damaged parts while installing unit.

Comments about Konica Magenta Imaging Unit:
The polymeric toners from Konica Minolta are a graphic designer's dream come true! The crisp lines on any vector output are a joy to behold, and for full color prints this laser performs better than perhaps any other color laser on the market. We have the Magicolor 7450 in our office now, and any upgrade we do will definitely be another Konica Minolta, mostly due to their patented toner technology.
