The 804RC2 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head is 20% lighter than its predecessors due to the use of Adapto material. It also features improved ergonomic design plus a counter spring system. Built into the forward/back tilt axis is a fixed spring that helps to absorb the shock of the full camera weight from crashing down. The spring also makes it easier to position the camera on this axis since it opposes some of the camera's weight.

It's a great tripod. Sturdy, easy to use, smooth and relatively light.

Comments about Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging 055XDB Tripod Legs (Black) with 804RC2 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head:
I bought this tripod for my Olympus DSLR outfit, because the Gitzo Studo Performance I use for my Sinar was too heavy.
It works great, is durable and the locks of the legs can be adjusted if needed over years-time.
The 804RC2 is great for general use, I replaced it with the 410 geared head for my architectural asignments.
As this tripod go's LOW too, the central post will get in the way.
Get the Low Angle Adapter, it fits on the bottom of the central post, ready to be used when needed.
This tripod will last you a life-time !
