The blue CBA-HPX500 Camera Body Armor from Porta Brace is a snug-fitting jacket made of a water-resistant, highly abrasive-resistant, soft-feel fabric that protects Panasonic's AJ-HPX500,HPX502 camcorders from bumps, hits and scratches. It also reduces the risk of camcorder damage due to precipitation, dust, and other harsh conditions.
The back end is expandable to accommodate various sized batteries and wireless microphone combinations. The armor includes a reversible Rain Top cover; the top is white (reflective) on one side for hot, dry, sunny situations while the black side is useful to absorb the sun's warmth under cold conditions. The camera body armor is loaded onto the camera using touch fasteners and web cinchers.
An HB40 Cam-C shoulder strap is included.

We ended up using the rain cover bag more than the porta brace armor. Both worked very well!!

Comments about Porta Brace CBA-HPX500 Camera Body Armor (Signature Blue):
I bought this for the sole purpose of protecting my camera in Uganda against all the red dust, and anything else. It did exactly what I thought it would do. I don't want to get into a battle of words with the previous reviewer, but from my experience:
The ND wheel access was fine for me, it's not completely covered. You may have to lean forward to see what you're set on, because of the way that the armor rests against the camera, and it creates a, "lip".
True, the preset WB, Gain, etc switches are completely covered, until you roll the flap up and fasten it to the provided velcro, then you can access everything fine all day long. With the flap closed, yes, it's covered.
The make and material are top notch--water resistant and very rugged.
The only fault I can think of is the fastening strap that goes across the front, near the viewfinder. The loop that the velcro belt goes through is lower and at a different angle than the height of the velcro belt on the other side. When you connect the two, you end up with the strap almost right in the way of the viewfinder fixture. You have to push it aside, etc, to plug in the viewfinder, so it has an odd flow to it. Not a deal breaker, but not well thought out in my opinion.

After 3 cameras in 10 years, all protected by beautifully engineered porta brace protection…this product is nothing short of disappointing.
Here's what I'm talking about….
Can't access ND wheel easily….completely covers it…no access
Can't access WB pre-set switches eaisly…completely covers it…no access
After importing the product all the way to Australia…I assumed the basic operation of the camera woudn't be hampered.
I am still a loyal porta brace fan…but this cover needs serious modification, esspesially for a run and gun ENG based cameraman
Like I said, Disapointing
