Comments about Casio PX-800 - Privia 88-Key Touch-Sensitive Digital Piano with Hammer Action Keys:
the keyboard itself is great and the operation is simple. the SD card slot is an added bonus. the one problem i have is the placement of the speakers. they ae below the keyboard at your knees and you cannot hear the sound as clean if they were up on top of the piano. the only way to overcome this is to turn the sound up all they way. however, the base is so powerful that some of the treble notes get drowned out and they get lost in the base. so to try to solve the problem i hooked it up to my home amp. and set up a couple of monitors up top. unfortunately, the speakers on the bottom do not shut off when you do this so you end up doubling the sound. as an engineer myself i can understand why the put the speakers where they did (convenience, looks) but if i was a sound engineer i would have never allowed it.

Comments about Casio PX-800 - Privia 88-Key Touch-Sensitive Digital Piano with Hammer Action Keys:
This piano turned out to be the best alternative to acoustic piano for my apartment. Besides nicely integrating with furniture in living room, it has awesome quality to its sound and a lot, I mean a lot, sound options, which is often not the case for this class of digital pianos. Keys are really feel like acoustic piano, sound as well. Very touch sensitive. The only thing I wish they had felt liner on top of keys, but the you can't hear the sound of key hitting the board, unless, the sound is completely turned off. Highly recommend, grab it while it lasts, since, it Casio has discontinued this model, and if you need this specific color in this price range, you won't find anything else, trust me, I searched a lot.

Comments about Casio PX-800 - Privia 88-Key Touch-Sensitive Digital Piano with Hammer Action Keys:
My 5 yr old is taking piano lessons and his piano teacher has the older model of this. She loves the piano for teaching the kids (no a lot of buttons, weighted keys, real piano sound). I decided to try it. My teenagers play it now as well as myself. The teens like that you can record onto SD card. I like that it doesn't take up a lot of space in my home. A real piano may be in our future, but this totally satisfies our needs for years to come (at a cheaper cost).

Comments about Casio PX-800 - Privia 88-Key Touch-Sensitive Digital Piano with Hammer Action Keys:
I've been around live music my entire life. I bought my recently-acquired Casio PX-800 after listening to Rolands, Korgs, and especially Yamahas. I prefer the sound of the Casio, which is most convincing. The instrument is well-designed and well-executed; there's nothing cheap about its construction, and it looks great in my study, because it matches my cabinetwork. I recommend the PX-800 without hesitation. Get one while you can!

Comments about Casio PX-800 - Privia 88-Key Touch-Sensitive Digital Piano with Hammer Action Keys:
We tried this piano at the store and then ordered on-line. We received a defective one b/c the key cover wouldn't open. So, we returned it. Overall, it did not seem to be very solidly constructed. The particle board stand that it comes with looks rather cheap and the plastic surrounding the keyboard did not look nice. We decided to pay a little more for a Yamaha DGX 630 aka Yamaha YPG 635, which we love and it is just a beautiful object that is solidly constructed. The one thing I would say is that the Casio's speakers are slightly better than the Yamaha.

We were interested in a piano for our 9 year old who
has been taking lessons and decided on this compact,
full sounding unit with a variety of sounds other than grand piano, that makes it a lot of fun to experiment with.
