The LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover is a neoprene hood cover that fits easily and snugly around your lens hood in either the shooting position or reversed. This can help to protect the front element of your lens from dirt, dust, moisture and impact. The Hoodie features a reinforced removable front element protection disc made from rigid plastic and firm foam to further protect your lens from damage.
In addition, the Hoodie can be used to complement an existing LensCoat lens cover in the same color or camouflage finish.

Comments about LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover (Black):
I bought this as a replacement to the hood for a 400 DO. The string part of the original hood did not work properly, fell off and no one can seem to fix it. A replacement cost with Canon was an outrageous $110 and no one seems to have it in stock. So I took a chance with this Hoodie and while its not fancy it works. Its a cheap effective and easy to use solution.

I designed a similar lens hood cover and asked my wife to make it for me when I saw this product at the B&H store. This is better than I had anticipated. Fits like a glove on the lens AND lens hood.

Comments about LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover (Black):
My Fathom Wide-Angle lens was delivered by [...] without any serious protection (a piece of cloth strapped with a rubber band) so my first move was to look for a protection above and underwater. It's easy to bang an underwater video rig when getting in or out of the water, or even on the boat...This hood perfectly fits the bill. It's a very good protection against most involuntary shocks, it folds easily in a dry or wetsuit pocket (or just slit under the belt of my BC). It takes some learning to slide it underwater while holding the housing, but that's fine.[...] SHOULD provide this hood with the Fathom lens they sell for so many dollars!

Comments about LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover (Black):
After recently getting my Nikon 300 f/2.8 lens, I was blown away at the massive piece of glass in the front and was worried about it getting damaged some way or another. For the safety it needed, I turned to LensCoat to keep my investment safe out in the field when it's not being used.

Comments about LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover (Black):
It's much more convenient than the leather cover and stores easier. The only downside is that it almost takes 2 hands to stretch it over the lens because it isn't rigid.

As always a great investment for your lens...
I always find the original Lens Cover Provided by Nikon or Canon most painful to use in the field...

Comments about LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover (Black):
The cover that comes with the Canon 300mm f/2.8L is a bit large and hard to deal with. This little cover slips nicely over the lens, with or without the lens hood. I use it most of the time instead of the bigger one that came with it...it's quicker on and off. I'm happy with the product in knowing it will help me protect the lens face. I'd recommend it.

Comments about LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover (Black):
I use this with the Canon EF 400mm F4 DO and it is really an essential accessory for the lens. The Canon one is bulky, heavy, and is a pain to get on and off. This one is lighter, quick to get on and off, and can be put on the lens when in storage with the hood in reverse, hood on normally, or even just over the front of the lense without the hood. It stays one and does what it should. The little loop on it is also useful for attaching a cord to something like your tripod ring so you don't lose it or let it fall on the ground.
This is also the most economical and reasonably priced product in the entire LensCoat line of products in my opinion. At sub $30, there should be no hesitation in purchasing this to protect your lens.

This is easier to slide on and off than the OEM one that came with the 300mm 2.8 glass.
Provides great protection, yet can fit into a pocket.
Great buy.
Comments about LensCoat XX-Large Hoodie Lens Hood Cover (Black):
I never liked using and carrying around the leather hood cover that came with my 300 2.8. The Hoodie is so easy to use in both the shooting and storage position. And best of all it gives me the protection I need.
