The Ewa-Marine D-CG7 housing is manufactured from double laminated PVC and has an integrated, optically neutral flat glass port. It has a pair of non-corrosive, seawater resistant clamping rails that fit together to form the seal and are secured in place by means of two screw knobs. Rated to a depth of 33' (10 m).
This versatile housing can be used in a variety of applications like sandy or dirty conditions, kayaking, or while swimming, snorkeling, or diving. It's easy to operate the camera because its various components and buttons can be operated through the PVC.
The D-CG7 housing was specially designed for the Canon G7 digital camera.

Comments about Ewa-Marine D-CG7 Underwater Housing:
I have an EWA Marine housing for my DSLR and although it doesn't allow access to all controls, it costs only about 10% of alternative housings.I had an upcoming trip to Belize and wanted to take my Canon G9 instead of a DSLR to travel light and decided to buy the D-CG7 figuring that because it was not camera specific and when I inevitably upgrade my G9 I could use the housing with other cameras. [...]t I am kicking myself that I did not just order the Canon specific underwater housing (I think it is the WP DC-21). Here's my reasoning:a. Unlike their DSLR housings, this EWA marine compact housing costs as much as the Canon model.b. The EWA Marine housing allows very limited control, whereas the Canon housing easily provides access to all the key functions of the camera.c. Although this EWA Marine housing isn't camera model specific and might fit some other models, it is made in such a way that many other compact cameras won't fit (e.g. my wife's and my son's cameras).d. The housing has a hard front port, which is good in that it allows the lens to open (really cheap underwater bags don't have such a port and on my camera, this prevents the lens from expanding and causes an error on the camera requiring it to be restarted). However, the port is too small such that it vignettes the lens on wide angle setting (which is how you are most likely to use it). The port also blocks the flash making this unit effectively an available light only solution. By contrast, the Canon housing has a much wider port allowing all focal lengths to be used and comes with a diffuser making the flash usable.I am really bummed that I didn't figure this all out before my trip and ended up not being able to do any underwater photography this time around.
