I have been using Kodak lens cleaning tissues and Kodak lens cleaner, ever since I started to take pictures more than 50 years ago. In a hardcover book from Pentax, there was even step by step instructions how to use the sheets. Pentax did reccomend Kodak sheets only. Of course, you started by blowing off any dust first. Then you rolled the sheet loosely up and teared the roll into 2 parts. You then used the teared ends to clean the lens with circular motion, starting from the middle of the glass, using smal drop of the Kodak lens cleaning fluid. Finally, you used lens brush carefully. However, the Kodak tissues or the cleaning fluid for that matter, have not been available in Iceland for some years.[...] recommend Tiffen Lens Cleaning Tissue as a substitute. I did order 5 packets and am happy to report that they are just like the old Kodak tissues, might even be better :-) It goes without saying, that I got the Kodak Lens cleanig fluid from B&H. I'm just happy!

These do clean the lens, but sometimes you need to use two at once. Also, you'll need canned air to spray off all the leftover fibers that stick to the lens. This is difficult sometimes if you are traveling or doing field work.

I know everyone recommends microfiber but I think these papers do a better job. I remember watching my dad use them to clean his camera when I was young. They kind of slide out of the holder if you're not careful, but it's really not that big of a deal to put them back in.

Cleaning tissue has always been my first choice for use on optical glass. Ever since my microbiology teacher [*] for attempting to clean a microscope lens with a regular paper towel. LOL. 4 stars because if you are not careful, the individual papers are not tethered together and WILL fall out of their card holder all over the floor.

The Tiffen Cleaning tissues are the best I have seen in a long time. I know many people are going to microfiber cloth and we are seeing fewer tissues being made. However since I travel a lot and those places are very dusty environments, reusable cloth is not an option. These tissues really hold up and are a great size. I would recommend it and even plan on purchasing some more for myself. I was very happy with this product.
