The Canon imagePROGRAF IPF6100 Large Format Printer produces prints with brilliant color and superb detail thanks to its sophisticated print-head technology. With features designed to help all levels of users achieve extraordinary results, the iPF6100 printer is the ideal solution for any color professional looking for striking, full-bleed color output with strength in paper handling and exceptional speed in output.
The iPF6100 printer is engineered to produce colors, fine details, and subtle expressions required for some of the most challenging color environments such as photography, proofing and professional graphic applications. It is equipped with the ability to recalibrate itself to the original factory settings and apply any necessary adjustments across the printer's media types, resulting in a more predictable printing platform where results can be consistently achieved.
The 12-color LUCIA pigment ink system offers excellent color fastness and stability with a remarkably wide color gamut, while the ink formulation for Black, Matte Black, Gray and Photo Gray inks reduce bronzing, and provides stronger ink adhesion to the print media, resulting in better scratch resistance without any additional protection. The Canon L-COA processor, which is dedicated to the imagePROGRAF, is designed to optimize the best quality output at the highest possible speeds. Vivid breathtaking, long lasting prints are achieved by combining Canon's advanced technological achievements.

When this printer is working correctly the speed and output quality are excellent. However, I have spent too much time dealing with paper misfeeds and printhead cleaning than seems reasonable. Misfeeds occur in the midst of print jobs, and immediately after successful printing. This wastes paper, time and patience.

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6100 Large Format Printer:
I use this printer for fine art photographic printing. The print quality is outstanding. With B&W I have people think they are looking at silver prints. Color quality is outstanding. I use the Canon print driver and do not print through Photoshop. This works very well. This printer really does not clog. I would never go back to an Epson printer! As with any printer, it takes a little time to settle in with papers that work best with your work,

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6100 Large Format Printer:
The printer was actually very easy to set up and to start printing. The directions were extremely easy to follow. I am very pleased with the output although printing for optimal quality takes time and care. the documentation does not cover the print interface with Photoshop and Lightroom well. I cannot find updated information on the Canon website regarding the Print Plug-in as it interfaces with CS 5 or Lightroom 3.

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6100 Large Format Printer:
The output quality on this printer is simply outstanding. It's B&W photo performance is especially good and ink consumption is low. The initial setup process is lengthy but once ready for use it is very easy to operate.
Print speed can be a tad slow over Ethernet so I recommend using USB if possible.
The roll feeder is in the rear of the unit rather than underneath, so it does have a deep as well as wide footprint. It is heavy as well, although there are built-in handholds allowing two people to lift it easily. The sturdy wheeled stand allows for one-person moving.

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6100 Large Format Printer:
I am so pleased with the results of this printer. The crispness it produces is just amazing. I have only had it two weeks, and I can already tell it was worth every penny. So far, I've only printed black and white photographs, but I couldn't be happier with the quality of the prints even at 24x36. Also, the printer is very ink conservative I have printed quite a lot and my ink level has barely decreased.
The only thing I am still struggling with is that unless I am printing full bleed, the printer crops the left side of landscape images off of the page, while still maintaining a border around all sides of the paper. I also can't seem to get the image to center on sheet paper. When using roll paper, I don't experience either problem.
