Good basic Mini Dv camcorder for those who hate the new hard disk drive camcorders.The screen is a little awkward to use but overall good for the rock bottom price paid.
Since I use it only for playback to transfer to DVD it does the job.

I bought this camera so I could play my MiniDV tapes after my old camera went swimming in the Boundary Waters (grrrr). I've used it a couple of times since and love it. You can't beat it for the price.
I like the ease of use, the 30x zoom is great and the controls and menus are easy to use. A well designed and functional camera.
I haven't had a chance to evaluate the quality of the images it captures; I'll leave that to other techies. But for my use (home movies), you can't beat this camera.
The only thing I don't like about this camera is the limited range of the video screen. I like to hold my camera up high in certain situations and the screen does not move enough to adequately see what you're filming.

only thing i didn't get was why the slide viewscreen if it only slides less than 1/2" either way. Picture quality using rca cables out to a 42' Sanyo Vizon LCD tv is not the best but hoping when i pick up a firewire cable it will improve. either way decent unit for under 200 dollars.
