Comments about Cullmann Magnesit 25 Nm Ballhead, with Independent Panning Lock - Supports 27 lbs (12.25 kg):
I bought the Magnesit 25Nm to replace a Manfrotto 486 ball head that I wasn't very impressed with. I also didn't need a quick release bracket.
The Cullman has worked out very well.

Comments about Cullmann Magnesit 25 Nm Ballhead, with Independent Panning Lock - Supports 27 lbs (12.25 kg):
I looked at this head very carefully... I ended up buying a Kirk Bh-3 instead but this cullmann was a strong contender. The friction control and panning base are excellent and thing feels extremely solid. The quality of the head feels equal to the kirk. In the end I didn't choose it because it lacks a quick release. I looked at adding a quick release to it, but in the end it made the head heavier than I was looking for. For people looking for a great combo, consider this head plus the wimberly QR assembly. Add the wimberly p5 plate to it and you've got a great, fairly inexpensive, setup.

Comments about Cullmann Magnesit 25 Nm Ballhead, with Independent Panning Lock - Supports 27 lbs (12.25 kg):
This ball head seems to be nice quality, and for a small camera is a great buy for the money. However, despite its 'ratings' it is barely capable of supporting my 10 Lb compact view camera, weighing in at less than half the rated capacity. This ball head will support the camera vertically with some degree of wobble, but forget about the horizontal position with a heavy camera. The features dont mention that the platform may be flipped to accommodate the 3/8 thread without using a bushing, and the rubber on that side of the base is firmer for a heavier camera. the rubber on the 1/4 thread side of the base (how it is out of the box) is a bit too soft for how sticky it is, and is prone to bunching and peeling off if you camera has a textured bottom.

Comments about Cullmann Magnesit 25 Nm Ballhead, with Independent Panning Lock - Supports 27 lbs (12.25 kg):
I got this for my Slik 700DX legs and E500, 50-200mm and future bigma. I took this inspite of the recommendations to buy[$] ballheads. After using it I am happy that it was a good choice if not the best. The built quality is very good it has panning and tension control, which is very helpful in the field.

Comments about Cullmann Magnesit 25 Nm Ballhead, with Independent Panning Lock - Supports 27 lbs (12.25 kg):
I use this ballhead on a Manfrotto 190DB to support a cheap panoramic head (panosaurus). The combination works great and weighs only about 6 pounds.
Compared to similarly priced ballheads this one can carry the most weight and has the smallest height.

THIS HEAD IS ROCK SOLID AND PREFORMS ALL TASKS WELL.I'M SHOOTING MY OLY 510 MOUNTED WITH 50 TO 200 MM OUTSIDE AT 25 TO 35 DEGREES C. NO PROBLEMS.
Comments about Cullmann Magnesit 25 Nm Ballhead, with Independent Panning Lock - Supports 27 lbs (12.25 kg):
Over the years, I've use just about everything out there, and I got to say this is the best ball head for the moneythere is. It's compact, strong, has all the controls, andlooks great. The only thing missing is a quick release andbubble level. I see nothing in this price range that evencomes close.
