I purchased this light for use during investigations. It is attached to a Sony Handycam MiniDV camcorder in Super Nightshot Mode. At a full charge this light has been able to illuminate a room the side of a 3 car garage at 0LUX.
- It doesn't give off a noticeable visible light.
- It's small and very lightweight.
- The 2.5 hr charge time is long but acceptable
- It has lasted 80min after being fully charged
I recommend this light for anyone who is wanting to take video at 0LUX. It works with any camera that has a night shot mode but is recommended (by me) for use only with a Sony. I have a Cannon Optura 30 and it doesn't illuminate anything. My Sony, however, can see large rooms clearly.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
This is a great little light. It works fantastic when coupled with a camcorder that has ability to 'see' IR light. It's battery life really isn't that long (anywhere between half an hour to an hour), so I'd suggest getting a couple so you can keep one on charge ready to use when your other one dies. At this price, it really is a steal considering how much other IR lights cost.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
This ir illuminator is a great addition to our "ghost hunting equipment." I matched it with my B&H s7 camera and it provides outstanding lighting for our infrared shots. Quite dependable and easy to use. Would recommend this light to anyone who needs the IR lighting. Works great to distances of 70 to 80 feet. Perfect for full room illumionation.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
A friend had a weird thing happening at her house at night so I used this light along with my camcorder to try and see what was causing the upset. The light worked but only for 43 minutes on 2 different occasions. Not even rthe 45 to 60 minutes the company claims. Then it took about 3 hours to charge.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
I originally bought one for my Sony camcorder with night shot and it made the biggest difference that I bought two more at a GREAT price from B&H!
Pros- great lighting, easy attachment, multiple lights can be attached to each other and easily, and comes at a great price
Con- though it has decent battery life the battery depletes even when it's not being used, so charge it before you use it everytime.

I bought the SL-20IR to try and take infra red pictures with my digital camera and it works. I wish it had a bigger array of lights or more intensity, the light is great within 10-ft. But for everything included the price is great!!

I use the product for ghost hunting. I like the fact that the light iluminate evenly, but only less 40 to 50 minutes on, not long enough for a full investigation.

A small and light IR light that works greats in absolute darkness. Just wished it used AA so you could swap them out in the field.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
We use it for Paranormal investigations. It works as advertised for cleaning up grainy night vision on camcorders. You must have a night vision camcorder for this to work. The IR lasts about 45 minutes with a 2 to 2.5 hour recharge time. If your using it for Ghosthunting you will need at least 2 of these so you can switch them out.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
I have a fugi still camera that has been modified to see about 1100NM in the IR range. When i used the sima light with it the illumination in 0 lux is awesome! The light is more of a flood light unlike the sony IR light which is more of a spot light. The only thing that could be better is if it ran off of "AA" becouse the the charge only last an hour.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
Used on night security/surveillance, wildlife video. Very effective up to 60 feet with consumer camcorder, greater distance with pro gear.
Very inexpensive for the performance given. For open field or forest work get two and stack them (they clip together.) Lith-ion battery installed, includes ac charger. Won't run with charger connected so no ac operation (overnight surveillance).

Able to see atleast 25 meters in total darkness using any Sony Camcorder with nightshot. Excellant product. If your a Ghost Hunter or a Paranormal Investigator, this IR light is a must.

Comments about Sima SL-20IR Infrared On-Camera Light:
This IR illuminator is amazing. The nightshot on my camcorder before doesn't even compare. If you don't have a mount on your camcorder then the Sima bracket is a must buy. I plan on buying another IR illuminator to use to change out with, because the battery only lasts about an hour.
