I use it to photograph scenics, nature, and birds. Fast speed, large memory permit rapid shots of birds and animals in motion, with little delay in download from camera memory to the card. In the past, many shots have been missed while memory que was downloading. I use a Nikon D200

Comments about Kingston 8GB CompactFlash Ultimate 266x Card:
I use it with my Canon 5D Mark ii-Raw & JPEG with no problem-it's not fast as my Sandisk Extream IV but it's fast enough for event photography.
For video capture: You'll notice drop frame when capturing in full HD, but SD capture is fine.
For this price its purfect.

Comments about Kingston 8GB CompactFlash Ultimate 266x Card:
I have always used Lexar or Sandisk and was reluctant to try something new, I'm glad I did! The price was ridiculously low and the x266 speed is notable. Works very well with the D700.

Comments about Kingston 8GB CompactFlash Ultimate 266x Card:
In a world flooded with media with which to retain our precious photographic moments, buying a compact flash would seem to be the least of problems. However, as a long time photographer, I have been subjected to the angst of reviewing my “Pulitzer winning photos” only to find that many have been lost. Who knows why; I'm not a technician. However, my experience with the Kingston line of CF's has been without event. And this particular version provides several features that have proven most reliable. Obviously the large capacity is most important. In the best JPEG mode, this CF will capture over 3500 clicks, while in RAW, it is capable of over 400. The rewrite speed (266x max) not only allows for quick camera response but draws less available juice from my SLR's battery - very handy for long isolated shoots. All in all, a terrific value in CF's based on its technical qualities as well as a limited lifetime warranty.

Ultimate is a real good name for this card. I have othe cards in this range and the Kingston writes and reads faster than the others I own. I use this in a Sony A700 and I shoot alot of sports action shots and it keeps right up with me. Have not had to wait for the card to be written to. I will buy another one soon.

Comments about Kingston 8GB CompactFlash Ultimate 266x Card:
I got this CF card because it was highly rated on [...] user sites as an good way to convert my X41 to a solid state notebook machine. I was not disappointment. Teamed with a Addonics CF-ADI adapter, I was able to load a lean-and-mean WinXP OS , Open Office, FireFox, Thunderbird and get it all in under 4GB. The disk performance went from 17mbps to 42mbps with none of the hard disk head parking clicking noises that were driving me nuts.I also initially made a mistake with the alignment of the adapter and inserted it with the pins offset by one. Good grief - the card heated up before I could remove it and I was sure it was ruined. But despite the fact that the data was wiped (duh) I was able to reformat it and reload the OS without the loss of a single byte. This is one fast, robust compact flash card! I am very pleased and recommend it highly.
